Runners were faster in the 80s!

Hmmm, another fast guy in the swamp to make the rest of us feel inferior.
Great, just fucking great.

Seriously cool. I am glad that I called you out on this - thanks for sharing.
(He would have lapped you in the 5, and your 800m pr is weak)

Goo is the man.
Grease is the word.
And a manwich is a meal. Greasy and gooey too.
When Goo was in Eugene, he was a gooey duck. I could link a pic of a geoduck, but naaaah.
And once again Mr. Wizard (aka: Stevie Ray) explains the internet.
I stopped running in 1984 and have not run for 25 year.
wow.. impressed.
So, do you count as a RWOL? I didnt know any of them could break 4 in the marathon.

There are actually quite a number of sub3 folks there in the section called MRT. When it comes to the migration, they were part of the business in that "competitive jerk" thread in our main board. And the 320 thread. Anyway most of them are chattering in facebook it seems. Or, well, the main 320 thread guy decided to set up a whole new message board.
They started up a marathon race training group here, and there was something weird about the url and how RA processes it... made that specific group slow. From that, they decided that all user groups are slow, a couple of the guys were sort of dickish about it (a little, not that much), and they never really landed here. Of course, no one had bothered to ask eric about the slow thing. He noticed the thread and 90 minutes later the problem was fixed.
But they are a different bunch and some (I don't know how many) feel that the culture difference here is too great.
Anyway, point being, they have some not-slow folks. Who know a lot about running.

I ran that 800 meters when 18. I hate 800. Never ran it as adult. My 1500 is weak too (my mile is something like 4:16 but I don't remember exactly, it was not a common distance in Europe). My 5000 and 10000 PRs are from marathon specific training, so I think I should ran faster, but whatever. We all think that our PRs should be better. It is what it is. I do regret not running an ultra when in my peak shape. I'll do ultra when I'm old and slow (my ultra friends love that saying).
Slow and steady never wins anything.
Thanks SRL.
And.. thanks Goo for showing up.
I'm RWOL refugee like the most new people here. I'll stay, it's better than RWOL.I posted in sub 2:40 "competitive jerks" group on RWOL. There were at least 3 sub 2:30 guys. There are at least 5 sub 3 hour marathon guys who post in LNO user group here on RA ( my home here). We have girl in L&O who is sub 3 too. She won Nike marathon a few years back.
You have a tall dog.

Isn't that how everyone does it?
It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.
Wow, Goo!
Good times never seemed so good.
135 lbs too. When he was young, he used to run trails with me.
You said it.
So Goo, do you also follow all the drama in the RWOL sub 3 group and did you follow the various secret societies (they aren't really that secret, it's just easier to set fb groups to private so as not to annoy people) on facebook??
