It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.

Indian Run 20k
Hocking Hills, OH
1:39:26
I feel like this might be a bit of a sandbagged goal, but I've never raced on trails before so I'm going conservative in my guess. I'll race on feel, though, so I may be surprised. McMillan suggests 1:34 based on a recent 5k, but that seems too aggressive.
Yes, I do "run in this." So should you. The weather is never as bad as it seems from behind your office or car window.
Hoodoo Guru
I would like to add that "Hocking Hills" is a great name for a town in Ohio.
The tangents are moot.
Set the bar low. Crawl under it.
It would be, if it were a town.

If you've never raced on trails before, your guess may not be conservative at all. Good luck.
Much may depend on how it is measured. And, of course, trail conditions.
Perhaps I should change my goals to "have fun and stop and smell the flowers", but I don't want anda to hit me.

Meh, she'd probably trip and fall down trying.
Thunder smash!
How many water crossings and what are the chance of floodwaters?
Youngstown ultra 50k, sep 18. Goal-<6.45 I guess? Sounds good. Oh, and not die and have loads of fun.
Nice avatar singlet!

East Rock Challenge, New Haven, CT, 5 Miler - 2 miles of climbing, 1 mile of flat, 2 miles of downhill. Goal=PR (<43:03). I'm supposed to do a 20 miler this weekend, so this will either be the last 5 of that, or the day after 20, but to me if I'm not shooting to better my previous best it's not worth racing.

WTF? I got a dislocated shoulder and a bum knee and now you are making fun of me?
I'm back.
You're calling him slow, right?
