The pain that hurts the worse is the imagined pain. One of the most difficult arts of racing is learning to ignore the imagined pain and just live with the present pain (which is always bearable.) - Jeff

Damn people! Really 5,000 - 6,000 miles. I really wish my DW would see how much you crazy people run so she would leave me alone about my pathetic 3,000 ish.

if December goes okay for me this will be my third year in a row above 5000 miles.
6000 would be a lot of running

Nice! Three years in a row of >5,000 is amazing. Hitting 5,000+ this year puts me over 500 miles more than what I ran last year. Cannot fathom 6,000 but I'm gonna try. Recent life events will give me a lot more time to run, so it's possible.

Slow and steady never wins anything.
So 5k and 6k folks, please raise your hand.
It took me a few seconds to register what you meant.
You people are crazy!
When I came here, I was thinking about starting 5000 miles thread as a joke. Well the joke is on me you crazy people.
Doing the math on this makes a 6,000 mile year seem daunting. It comes out to >16 miles per day and >115 miles per week for the entire year. Still, I gotta take a swing at it...
