                  Hometown AG win.

Shamrock Shuffle. Saturday. Zelienople, Pa. Races of 10 miles, 5k and 1. I'm in for all three.

10 is hilly. 5k and 1 mile are rolling. Goals? No time idea as I've not run the courses, so hope to place in top 3 in each in my AG?

Wear Irish flag shorts. Mentally taunt competition by wearing '07 Dublin Ireland marathon shirt.

Drink free green beer at end. Yes, it's an abonimation, but free overrides. Wash that down with Guinness and Irish whiskey.

1:19:59 or better, PR for an official Half and not just a marathon split.

Only my 7th half (45? marathons) and 2 of the 6 so far were before I was able to legally drive.  Damn, that was over half my life ago.  I am trying to say that I have no idea how to race a half.  I guess I just have to run 6 minute miles all the way.

                            I laughed.

What was the secret, they wanted to know; in a thousand different ways they wanted to know The Secret. And not one of them was prepared, truly prepared to believe that it had not so much to do with chemicals and zippy mental tricks as with that most unprofound and sometimes heart-rending process of removing, molecule by molecule, the very tough rubber that comprised the bottoms of his training shoes.
