Purity 10k Nashville Mr. McMillan says I should run a 36:52 based on my race this past weekend. My PR is 38:25. I'll set a goal of sub 36:30.
Here's to new PR's....on the road to Boston!
Thunder smash!
Inaugural Southern Indiana Classic (I kid you not) marathon - Evansville IN - no real goal, plan to run with JEM who mentioned something about 3:30. We'll see.
MTA - after reading TT's post, I also ask Mr. McMillan's time advice and the website told me to take up bowling. So I've got that going for me.
You must not run many 10ks ... smash that PR!

2013 Goals ~ Mar < 3:00, 5M < 29, 10k < 35
Goal is to finish without hurting myself, but I'd like to get close to my PR (1:30:something). I'll say goal is under 1:35. My 8 year old daughter is running the half with my wife too.
4/11 - Brew 2 Brew
I'm doing this one as a long, supported training run, and running it solo. Goal is 8:00. And of course, to not get hurt.
I, in fact, do NOT run many 10k's. It's been over 2 years since my last one...and I've probably not done more than 5 ever. So.....this should be interesting.
mta: or your 11k PR for that matter. 11k PR? WTF is wrong with people?
Runners run.
First race in ...well a while... and granted i don't break anything, Doyles 5mi Sunday. Sub 35min....
Started breaking my toes again, so had to take some time off... Internal rotation at knee/hip+ external rotation at the foot=problems...

It is impossible to have a 10k PR slower than your half marathon PR. mta: or your 11k PR for that matter. 11k PR? WTF is wrong with people?
There is a race here that increments the mileage by 0.01 mile every year. Every year is a PR.

"When I got too tired to run anymore I just pretended I wasnt tired and kept running anyway" - dd, age 7
WTF am I supposed to do? I ran a damn 11k race. It was around thanksgiving one year. I didn't make it 11k, talk to the race director. Should I take my first 10k of my half marathon? I don't know what my time was at the 10k mark. My PR is what it is...soft. For now. That will change in a few days. Relax Mikey. Breath.
4/11- Great Bay Half Newmarket, NH
Goal- 1:43 .... I had hope to have a semi-respectable chance for 1:39:59 but just isn't going to happen.. I ran this race last year at 1:46, but this year I'll be going in weighing a good 10+ lbs heavier and really struggling for last week or so in my daily runs...
HobbyJogger & HobbyRacer
I want to have this. I like the idea of new PR every year.
MTA: 2mi leg of relay this Friday, Apr 9, I'll shoot 11:30.
It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.

It is impossible to have a 10k PR slower than your half marathon PR.
My 10 mile PR is faster than my 10K PR, and my HM PR is only 3 seconds slower. That's what happens when you don't race a 10K in over 2 years. There's just not many of them around here.
Anyhow, I am probably racing Saturday.
Belvidere Fox Trot 5K, Belvidere, NJ
This is the inaugural event in my home town. Probably not certified, but my son wants to run so there is that. I need to get some miles in so I can just run home from the race (about 10 or so miles).
Let's make sub 21 the goal. Thanks Dakota.
Semi-retired.
Idiot
Yes, I do "run in this." So should you. The weather is never as bad as it seems from behind your office or car window.
I think mikey's point is that you set a new 10k PR in those longer races if they're run at a faster pace.
Dude, don't confuse me. So now races need to have timing mats at all of the intermediate race distances?
