MTA: I concur wholeheartedly with that commentary addition. I do suspect I'll have an easier time with it due to the loop nature of the course, and the fact I will have people in front of me to follow around. Hopefully they remain on the correct course Big grin

They say golf is like life, but don't believe them. Golf is more complicated than that. "If I am still standing at the end of the race, hit me with a Board and knock me down, because that means I didn't run hard enough" If a lot of people gripped a knife and fork the way they do a golf club, they'd starve to death. "Don't fear moving slowly forward...fear standing still."

Runners are morons; I'm sure they will all follow him wherever he goes.

It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.

It still scares me to see that number up there (<2:50) but I have been committed to this all year.  Time to put up or shut up.  Yeah I know recent race times do not predict even close to this but as Neil Young says :"It's better to burn out than to fade away..."    Fuck it!  Go big or go home.

I've moved my PR for every distance I've raced this year, except the marathon.  2:55:00 gets me a PR, and proves my only previous trip under 3 hours (tailwind-aided Boston) wasn't a total fluke.

5K on Sat. L Training it w DW, probably. 16miler on Sunday. Racing it. Guess I'll set my goal as PR'ing, which will take a 1:49:12. Last year's course was easier than usual, so this year the big hill is back, adding a challenge.

It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.

I do not feel as strong/capable/confident as I did in April, there will likely be no competition and it's a turny course, but I feel compelled to try and old man PR it.

I'll report my demise post race.
