February 4-10 Racing Thread (Read 95 times)

I pulled away to establish my AG win

Nice but for you sake I sure hope this was gun time. This stuff matters, you know!!

I read that WG and want to puke. Not from the racing but the donut stuff. Another race checked off the bucket list eh?

I have to imagine there was some puke to hop over.

I think Eight ball goes to C-R's son.

MTA:  My official time, 2:01:28. Ended up running most of the race with a friend who pushed my pace a little bit, hence the better than expected time.

        The tangents are moot.

Set the bar low. Crawl under it.

By outkicking me, Katie beat me by 0.9sec gun time, and by 0.7sec chip time. She started behind me and crossed the start line behind me. Explain that.

It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.

Trying to finally knock out last years' time goal

            17:04, 2OA

Roads were a bit of a mess (good stretches with about a two inch gray/brown slush), so feet were a bit soaked. Time trail too, as 1OA was 15:56 and 3rd was 19xx.

Ran with no watch, and there were no mile splits, and couldn't see the finish clock with the sun glare. So this was all feel. And the feeling was good. I will take this and then some. Got a little ceramic chili bowl for the effort.

But Och! I backward cast my e'e, On prospects drear!
An' forward, tho' I canna see, I guess an' fear!

                  Yes, that's pretty excellent, Kevin.

                    Nada from me.

My daughter was up throwing up all the night before (and I was up with her of course) and I went to the start and ran but I didn't want to be there, I wanted to be with my daughter.  Quit without my body even needing to... only because I didn't feel like it.  Felt like priorities were just messed up.

TeaOlive looked strong when I left!!!

                      Ha-ha.  Not quite.   24 hours, 43 laps, 73.66 miles.

I spent most of the time thinking that 24 hours is a long fucking time so just what the hell was I doing?

The day time weater was wonderful but it was much colder than the predicted mid 40's during the night.

I had to sit in my  car for 45 minutes trying to get warm just after 4:00am.

Queazy stomach from 6 to 24 hours.  Lots of Pepto taken.

It was nice to meet heather, sorry that it didn't work out for you.

And great to meet Buzzie and PerfesserR as well.  A couple of little speed demons they are.

18 hours of nausea. It's really unfathomable why regular people don't appreciate how attractive running and racing are.

                        Fast is better than long

I sense a number of sandbaggers or overachievers were on teh course this week.

Willie, minute and a half better than projected in a 5K, nice comeback from ole blood and guts

Dallas, was tricked into running 9 minutes faster than projected in a 1/2 marathon, Cowboy Up!!

                          G-Kev crushing a 5K, PR'ing by about a half minute.

C-R is teaching his son the art of sand bagging, great run young man!

This is not gonna be an easy week.

Awesome PR to G-Kev!  That time is flying especially for a course that presented some challenges.

and 9 mins faster for a 1/2M...Kerazee fun for Dallas!

Finally TO for running 24 hours...I can't even imagine, regardless of how many laps and then feeling nautious.

And yes, 24 hours is a long fucking time.
