How do you keep your feet on the ground, when you know you were born to fly?
break'n three
Oh man, a college meet. I'm scared.
Gonna be a little different to run in a race in which I finish in the very bottom versus a normal local race where I am towards the top. Gonna set 22:45 as my goal, though, as often, I don't know quite what to expect. I think I may be in the neighborhood of 18:37 shape for 5K, but this race is also a little longer and on gravel/grass. My last few races I've gone out way to easy, feeling good most of the race; so the goal this time is to go out hard. If I die a little (or a lot) it is what it is. Trying to find that middle ground of effort that is a good 5K race.
First time in the race thread since December 2010. I'm 10 lbs heavier than last year and have no idea what to expect this weekend. Not sure of strategy. I'd like to go all out on the first leg to get an idea of my 10K pace but that'll leave me gassed for what is a brutal, hills-from-hell leg 8. Either way I'm getting drunk after.

I run a race rarely, so I want to make up and run 6 of them in 1 day If someone drops out, I get to run more for the same entry fee.

Blaine Moore (MM#2867)
Bradbury Bruiser - 3rd of 3 races. I'm going to take it as a given that Judson will show up and kick everybody's asses again, because that's what he does. Hopefully Kevin Tilton shows up too so he at least has some competition.
Last year I ran 88:14, and this year I've been a minute or so behind my times in the other 2 races of this series (6 and 9 miles each) so I expect I'll run about 90 minutes.

Dietz, 13.1, Crystal Lake Half, Crystal Lake, IL, <1:23
I have no idea what kind of shape I'm in now as my training has sucked ass lately. That said, I think I need to be in <1:23 shape because a) I'm tired of sucking ass and b)how the hell am I going to set any other PR's if I continue to run like shit.
Carry on....
