      Southern Counties Veterans League

      Winchester, England

      Goal: <18:00

Not expecting much.  Heavy legs, nothing even approaching faster running for months and months.  We will see.

Also: when the fuck did I become a vet? I turn 40 next year.  Apparently in this league there is a V35 category.

June 26th - Dormont Dash 5k, Dormont PA. Goal - somewhere around 22.30.

        Hometown AG win.

Dormont Dash Saturday. Slightly different course than last year. Goal: Defend age group placement from last year in my hometown race, so 1st in AG and @ 19.

Skeeter: See you there! This will be very hilly!

Awesome dan! Hmm, well maybe I'll change my goal hahah since my PR was on a perfectly awesome flat course! lol. Well, we better meet up. Twin won't be there because she will be at a dave matthews concert which I can't go to because I have to work friday night Sad

              Go The Distance 8k

              London, Ontario

Goal: Turn my 5k pace from April to my 8k pace now which would be sub 32:00...gulp.  It's a stretch but i'll give it a go.

              Puttin' on the foil

6/27/2010 Ironman Coeur d' Alene (Coeur d' Alene, Idaho).  Goal - finish w/ a time under 9:45:00, qualify for World Championship in Kona and BQ during the marathon.

Break down goal splits - Swim (2.4 miles) - 1:04:00.  Bike (112 miles) -5:13:00.  Run - 3:12-3:15.  That adds up to a 9:35:00, which would be the finish time on a perfect day.

The race is sponsored by Sam Adam's so the only reason I do the "race" is to drink as much Sam Adams as I want post race.  It has become an annual event for us local hashers.  Usually someone will have a few pints along the looped course so if you try real hard you can have three glasses of Sam Adams before even finishing the race.

My wife is registered for this Triathlon, but she needs to pull out so hopefully I can take her place. I don't know yet if that will be alowed, but it should be okay so we'll see if I can get in.

The pain that hurts the worse is the imagined pain. One of the most difficult arts of racing is learning to ignore the imagined pain and just live with the present pain (which is always bearable.) - Jeff
