Hypoxic altitute tents (Read 475 times)

"Another One" is single and ready to take things from serious to sex in 2.7 seconds if you like.

ahHA!  Thunder and Trent are really the same person. I knew it...

Don't fool yourself. You weren't getting anything done anyhoo. And who could with that crazy upside down horse?

Carrying the horse is fulfilling and meaningful work in itself.

And as Albert C reminds us, there is no fate that cannot be surmounted by scorn.

How can Hypoxic tents and Hyperbaric chambers both aid performance?

How can Hypoxic tents and Hyperbaric chambers both aid performance?

Good thinking. I'm going to set up my hypoxic tent inside my hyperbaric chamber for double the benefit.

I have read a bit on this lately

Sleeping in the tent is not what aides recover directly.  If you take just one training stimulous and one recovery period they are detrimental.  If you only cared about recovering from the effects of that one workout you would go Hyperbaric chamber.

              but

              Why it works

When the human body is exposed to hypoxia (oxygen reduced environments), it struggles to produce required amounts of energy with less available oxygen. This struggle triggers the onset of a range of physiological adaptations geared towards enhancing the efficiency of the body's respiratory, cardiovascular and oxygen utilization systems.

in the long run after physiological adaptations take place - you will recover quicker

I had a serious question - but I knew I had to mask it in sex or something interesting to get a response in here.

Well maybe sleeping in the tent or the chamber helps the running part, but your partner would soon make other sleeping arrangements no?

I have not had the opportunity to bounce the idea off her.  It all started a few weeks ago when I was thinking about A1 and Leadville.  I thought if I were to go do Leadville and did not want to fail (Or lose to A1) - What advantage could I get over him?

So I was bouncing the idea off the running group this weekend and some young guy (26) said - The orgasms in an altitute tent @ 12,000 feet are amazing - the rest is history

OK my concern in all seriousness would be temperature.  Are they air-conditioned?  because even sleeping with the door of the room closed makes the room too hot for me.  Of course I am sure as a running my heat tolerance would be helped if I started sleeping in warmer rooms, but my sleep is crappy enough as it is without adding a hot room to the equation.  Lack of sleep is NOT good for my running. Or my sex life.

But other than that, hey....sounds like a great idea.

I'm running somewhere tomorrow. It's going to be beautiful. I can't wait.

                            disagree - failing to finish

losing to A1 while finishing would not be all that bad, but is something I am trying to avoid.

it does get warm - but i've put a fan in during hot temps and that has helped.
