Very nice finish - especially going into that last curve and coming out of it.
It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.
Every great runner has had contact with a great coach.
In some ways he's the anti-DoppleBock:
"(Now with 160 mile weeks instead of 120-30), I feel like I can just do workouts hard over and over again. (But) when I'm dead tired, I'm like 'okay, just take the day off.' If I have 110 miles with a day to go, I don't go out the door and run 50 miles."
Runners run.
Ha, true. The interview with the coach is great, too, and talks about how attuned Levins is to his body and how he is willing to take two days off if his knee is bothering him a bit. I liked also how Levins emphasizes that he is training to race--that's always the purpose.
Any ideas as to what a 190 mile week looks like?
Or even what the hell they are doing at Southern Utah.. seriously.. how do they train out there?
Great thread and links.
Cheers Jeff!
