I had thought about doing the Cheesehead 5k on Saturday morning - Abe did the 1/2M. It was warm and humid when I got up, so I said screw it and did a run and a couple of miles faster on the track - Sweat was flying everywhere - I am sooo glad I did not race ~ I am tired of fighting heat, humidity or both in races.
I see Abe took 2nd and was only a little behind the winner ... just ribbing you Abe - Nice run with the weather

ON THE 7th DAY, GOD DID AN EASY 6 "Running is a big question mark that’s there each and every day. It asks you, ‘Are you going to be a wimp or are you going to be strong today?'" - Peter Maher
So I definitely messed up my calf...
Still very sore today, and it is a stretch or full range of motion that hurts. Stairs are really hurty... I am thinking some sort of pull/strain, which is weird because I did a very full warmup for the race and was running a hard, but not strained pace at the time. Maybe the combo of Ragnar, then all of the heavy loads on uneven terrain that is back country canoe camping had something tweaked and ripe for injury.
I plan to mostly cross train along with lots of ice and such this week before I test it out running again. Hopefully it is not more than a 1 week setback, since I plan to really race a half in October, which will be a first in a year and a half...
Fuck!!!

BUT WHAT WAS THE RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND DEW POINT??
It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.
She was not happy...Old ladies aren't supposed to out kick college chicks. Too bad, I was thrilled
Great Job, Willie!
Unfortunately the college chick kicked my ass in the end, passed me with about 6 to go and I just did not have it in me to catch her. I think she had been stalking me for about 15 miles or so. Still pretty pleased, considering high temp of 90 frickin degrees.

Had a good time pacing some lovely gals at the Lady's Speedstick Half on Sunday. It wasn't hot, but shit was it humid and the course was fairly hilly. Was alone most of the race after mile two, which sucked. Around mile 11 came upon a gal that was struggling up one of the final hills. She was in 4th place and looked like she could use some help, so I slowed my pace and helped her through the last hill, getting water for her at the last aid station so she could just focus on running. Still finished w/in 30 seconds of goal (1:35:29) and had some silky smooth legs in the process.
Maybe depoint @ 60
Temps @ 75 with Humidity @ 80% - Just guessing

Yeah, I was glad I wasn't racing on Sunday. It was so dang humid and I was drenched in sweat just running an easy pace. I think I'd have had a heart attack if I tried to race a half.
I'm cheering for Fall to make an early arrival.
This Saturday would be nice

Damn. Last time I raced him, I was only behind by about 3:40. Oh, that was an 8k.
Damn. I didn't even notice the heat and humidity. I guess I had been so accustomed to it by now, that I didn't think much of it. The hardest part was running 7-13 back into the wind.
Damn. I'm supposed to be running slightly faster than this pace for a FULL, and I can't even do it for a HALF! Let's just say I was seriously ticked off on Saturday. And I mean, seriously.
There was a point in my life when I ran. Now, I just run.

Honorable mention goes to Gville for his supah exciting mile race, blasting below 5 minutes! And the coveted imaginary fucking cartoon goes to none other than the incredible Willie who battled PF injury and other aches and pains to crush the younger wimmens on a hilly trail course and grab the winner's wreath!
Proofread carefully to see if you any words out.

No brainer (although close call with Gville's great 1-mile time). Congrats Willie!!
