Good luck to you all! Run hard and smart! I've got a bit an endurance event of my own tomorrow-- my wedding. I sure hope I tapered enough!
Good luck! Don't poop your pants!
Nope, not quite as fitting..how about.... Congratulations! Have a wonderful wedding and the best of luck to you and your bride to be.
Nope, not quite as fitting..how about.... Congratulations! Have a wonderful wedding and the best of luck to you and your bride to be.
But, also, don't poop your pants. You're 99.99% sure to get lucky on your wedding night but that might actually be one of the ways to wind up the other .01%

      Runners run.

Good luck to all tomorrow: Trent and Jeff - and the other ones that I know are running but can't quite remember. Since they're probably not elitist pricks, they'll miss this anyway. No harm, no foul. Jeff, I'll be watching for you. I'm not a big fan of the out-and-back courses, but I've never actually known anybody who'll be that close to the front - so I'm really looking forward to watching for the front-of-the-packers. I sat on the porch with a cigar and the CMM map last night, estimating your pace and my pace and where I'd be likely to see you. I think I've got two spots pretty well picked out. Wish I could be at the finish line, but I'll still be roughly an hour and fifteen minutes away. If you hear somebody yelling embarrassingly loud, that'll be me. Remember: if you don't wave back, it's rude. I read it on the Internet. That "I'm running at 5:30 pace here" excuse won't fly. I plan to count Kenyans and Ethiopians until you rumble into view. I'm hoping not to see too many white faces in between - or at least not Davidson county faces. I saw the prize money at stake. The thought of actually getting paid, on top of the not-quite-as-crappy-as-last-year t-shirt and the free plasticware from Publix, must have you stoked. (For a cut of the prize money, I might be willing to throw things at a front runner or two ...) Trent - watch your back. A little birdie told me you're in corral 4 or 5. I'll be in 7. Which gives you a good 5-6 minute head start. I'll do my damndest to catch you, though it ain't likely. But if you feel like slacking, just remember I'm right behind you. Waiting to taunt you mercilessly. Big day tomorrow. Time to find out if all this running actually does anything, besides make me unbearably sexy. Next year we should all do that Strolling Jim 40. Looks like a blast. Enough of this pansy marathon crap. You can always use the CMM as a warm-up. Looks like decent weather tomorrow. A little humid, but better than last year. Nice enough to make most of my best excuses worthless. This morning was downright cold. See you at the stadium, just before 11:00 a.m. (Or, in Trent's case, maybe around 10:20, somewhere in Shelby Park ...) Run like the wind, boys. Or, in my case, like a sluggish tepid breeze. Modified to add: because I modify and add something to everything. And to thank everyone for the well wishes. Thanks to you people, the pressure is unbearable, and if I don't do well tomorrow, I'll probably just jump off a bridge. Modified to add: that was a joke. Mostly.

Rock on, JK! I'll keep my ears out for you. I think it's unlikely I'll end up in the money, as there are two sub 2:30 guys from the 'vegas who have decided to show up. So, if you decide to throw something, aim well. Dude, you are so ready. Let. 'er. rip. But not too soon. Wink

          Prophet!

May the Schwartz be with you!
Good luck JK, Trent and Jeff. Weather seems to be shaping up pretty nicely. You should all be able to roll. I am looking forward to hearing the race reviews!! Run Fast!
