This "Lent" thing sounds like something you do to improve your running. In that spirit, I'll be giving up my kids for Lent.
There was a point in my life when I ran. Now, I just run.

No doubt an invention of The Man.
Pope gig is off for me. Been married twice so I'm DQ'ed..
I associate happy and Mardi Gras with boobs, and not a single boob to be seen? I know it's not Friday, but this thread disappoints. What would Tater do?

First off, I did not know how many types of bigamists there, apparently, are.
A widower who remarries is apparently a real bigamist.
A man who marries a widow is apparently an interpretive bigamist.
A man who marries an unmarried woman who has previous slept with another man is apparently an interpretive bigamist.
But anyway, you can be dispensed, right? It's just that the guy (the only one who can dispense you) is tired.
It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.
As a Lutheran we do not have a tradition or expectation or ritual to give stuff up for lent. But I have thought about this statement and yes ~ Lent would be a good reason excuse to start some serious effort to improve my running. In the 1st 43 daus of 2013 I have managed to not lose 1 pound.
So ... for Lent I want to
* Track calories and keep them under 3,000 per day
* Give up sweets (Except if my DD's make me birthday cake ... then I get 1 piece)
* Give up Alcohol (Again except for Birthday exemption)
* Drink >= 120 ounces of h20 a day
Wait Lent is not about me ~ So never mind - this is not "For Lent", it just happens to coinside with the start of lent and lasts the same amount of time as lent.
