Well, I came in at 3:04:43, over the 2:59 I wanted, but still pretty good for me. My previous Seattle best time was 3:08 a couple years ago, so all in all, I'm pretty happy.
I guess it was just a tough day out there.

Legs felt better than I expected, took down all but two of the bulls. Had a great front row seat watching them try to kill each other for first. Cold and windy, but not a bad day for a race, didn't see results posted but Garmin had 17:37 and I think that's what they announced.
A little less than 18 minutes of work followed by five hours of rehydration, that seems to be about the right ratio. I don't want to know how much weight I've gained in the past week, it's time to get back to work.

19:10 unofficial. 5OA, not sure on AG, maybe 3rd. Not bad for a week after a PR marathon. Too bad it wasn't a 5k or I would have PR'd a marathon and a 5k within 7 days. I was in 4th for most of the race, gapped badly by BadDawg. Faded badly and got passed in the last 100 meters but had nothing left to fight back and settled for 5th. PF flared up badly in the last mile too so I was favoring one foot. Now hoping I'm not on the shelf too long.
Official: 19:13, 5OA, 3AG
SELFISH, like you.
48:10. The Manchester Road Race is a New England tradition, Amby Burfoot ran it this year for fifth year in a row, but it is so fucking crowded these days it is really more of a parade than a race. Still, it was fun. Two dollar Sam Adams after - that's something.

I looked this one up and saw 13411 finishers. Damn. That's a lot of people for a short race.
Did you crowd surf to the finish?

I could have. The race also has tens of thousands of spectators. There was one point in the race, near a famous local bar, where the crowds were so thick we had to walk.
Have you qualified for Boston? I want to interview you!

The race I directed went well. Weather was a bit of a disappointment, but I didn't fuck up and everyone had a great time.
I also raced an impromptu 10K on Thursday (my race was Friday) and PRd.
Race: Drumstick Dash 10K
Time: 35:26 (9th OA, 1st AG)
Negative split the hell out of the course (2 laps around the lake) going 18:20 for the first lap and 17:06 for the last lap. Didn't think I had that kind of finish in me, but it felt damn good.
Oh and a lot of Surly was consumed on Friday after the race.
30:37
Greatly exceeded my own expectations (sandbagger). I don't race this distance often, but this is probably my best 5mi since college.
A little sluggish warming up Saturday, coming off a 18mi turkey day workout, but didn't seem to impact the race. Tried to push the pace at mile 3 when I realized I might have a shot at sub 30, but had a little trouble keeping the pace up and actually fell back a bit, running alone at that point. (tactical note to self: try to start out a little faster and fight to keep contact with pack.)
I think that's my last race of the year.
Only goal left is to hit 2000 miles so that I can finally get my name engraved on the official swamp "Barrel Club" beer mug.
Dooood.
17:33, 2OA, PR No college or high school xc'ers out there. Another time trial (1OA was 30+s in front of me, 3OA was 30+ back). Windy as a mf'er out there. My kid's cub scout den was manning the water station, so I had to take a water. Sure that cost me the 3 stupid seconds for this goal, but I'd do it again to see that smile.

Congrats, Kevin!

Holy crap.. nice finish.
.. and nice RD work!
Seriously..
Lots of top OA and top AG finishes out there this week.

Strong. That's doing it the fun way.

Thanks man. It was cool to see the Mtec.com results showing that I passed 100 runners and wasn't passed at all during the race. Definitely one of the best paced races I've ever run, but still begs the question; Why the fuck did I go out so slow?

Okay, I am assuming Jill was a DNS, so the rest of you boobs deserve a result on this weeks running, some phenomenal performances: a beer mile right after an awesome Monkey!!! Paulygram has me crushing on him big time! Gville Kevin taking a water break in a 5k just to see his child's smile, and PRs anyway. BadDawg and EGH3 having crazy awesome races as usual, and Willie continuing her comeback roll in style, jdmcgregor having an awesome race on a difficult course, AmoresPerros PRing a 50 miler on no sleep!!, but this week's imaginary fucking cartoon goes to lagwagon for crushing his goal, getting a PR and inspiring me!
I also had a pretty okay race on sore legs....go me!
Proofread carefully to see if you any words out.
