I fell off the wagon shortly after.
And it's done. Over 1,500 runners, no medical issues, great volunteers, and over $50,000 raised for the non-profit. Pretty good day!

We get money from four main sources:
The registration income outweigh sponsorship money by almost 4:1. This year was difficult... registration money was up, but sponsorship and individual fundraising was down by a good bit. In the end, it basically balanced out. And I just started working full-time for the non-profit organization a few weeks ago, so I'll be able to focus on sponsorship and promoting the fundraising as part of my job now. I'm hoping that gives us a big bump next year. But, we've been able to raise more that 150,000 in 4 years through the race... not too shabby.
It's been fun learning the logistics of pulling off a race. And we've limited the field size to help us manage the growth, and that's been a smart move. There's always something to improve on, ways you can make it better.
Hard to believe it's been almost a year...
We sold out over the weekend with 2,000 participants this year. I don't think anyone from the Swamp signed up... and I'm having a hard time remembering which Swamp member (other than me) ran the race. Anyone?
And we only show 6 people signed up from Tennessee, which is lower than last year, I believe. Only 1 signed up from the Nashville area.

What concerns me about Trent's marathon website is that every photo of the course appears to show an an uphill. Even the photo that is probably going downhill looks like an uphill.
