Only to embarrass an old teammate... (Read 376 times)

Fast is better than long

On her way to 2000 miles this year our friend Willie(_MN) rediscovered trail running. We saw a result of that this past weekend as she won her first marathon on the trails at Superior. I hear tell she out ran a bear to win, but that's just myth and folklore. Before winning this marathon she was named UMTR Runner of the month. It's a riveting story of view masters, sunglasses, olympic trials and fear of the dark.

While I have know her to be a tough cookie for quite some time, you all are just being treated to it recently. Congratulations young lady.

In the article you mention your favorite running gear, care to tell us how you acquired you favorite pair?

      Cool stuff.

You suck. You should just quit. Jackass. Welcome back.

Paul! Ahh!  I saw the post and thought, who else knows a team mate here??

Yep known you since I graduated high school in '89.  Still remember hiding behind the gymnasium to sneak in a morning run with the guys because us young college girls weren't ready to run twice a day.  Wink

Thanks for sharing and I owe credit to the swamp here for getting me through this season.  Injury dump for what seems an eternity but there's trail and ultra runners here that helped light the fire.  Hmm, maybe they know something I don't...you all did and you made my season worth it.

Now to take some rest to try and beat this planter crap so I can get to indoor track when the snow starts to fall and back to mud and some pavement action next spring.

As for my glasses - My favorite pair was a pair of Oakleys that I found on the side of a road on a cool down of a race.  All the runners were off the course and they were just sitting there looking for a new friend.  Fit me perfectly and ran with them for years.  Best pair ever..that is until I lost them..DAM it!  Maybe they are on the side of a road for another runner looking for protection.

So Pauly - I'm visiting my mom in for Thanksgiving, we'll have to hit the Prairie Path!  Big grin

I've enjoyed seeing your great results in the racing thread. A very nice 2012 you've put together. Nice work!

Very cool!  So nice to learn more about you.  Smile

Proofread carefully to see if you any words out.

I'm a little confused, he calls you old in the thread title then calls you a young lady.  One thing that leaves no room for confusion is your running, that is clearly outstanding.  Beat that plantar Willie, and keep it rolling!

He is old and adleminded so he gets cornfused.

In the article there is a hint of strength; she has a section of her trophy case dedicated to body building/sculpting awards. I'm confident she can crush me in arm wrestling and bench pressing. That chick just wins. She may be Mrs. Dos Equis
