5 sub 2:05 and 5 within 8 seconds of each other ~ Rolling together like a wrecking crew

Five men ran sub 2:05 at the Dubai Marathon (held on Friday) - the top 4 all Ethiopian. In his marathon debut, Lelissa Desisa, 23 won in 2:04:45. Desisa attempted a move early but could not break away, but stated he knew he could win in the final sprint. Desisa also stated he hoped to run a 2:06 and was surprised and elated with his time. Berhanu Shiferaw finished runner-up in 2:04:48; Tadese Tola was 3rd in 2:04:49; Endeshaw Negesse 4th in 2:04:52. Also in his debut marathon, Bernard Koech of Kenya, finished 5th in 2:04:53

Imagine running sub 2:05 and coming in 5th? Fuck.

      Runners run.

Well...it was his debut....now he knows what to expect he can run it faster............

Proofread carefully to see if you any words out.

Not as bad as I thought it would be.

So there's a million dollar prize for a world record? Does any other marathon offer anything similar?

The race was at 7am local time so it was probably pretty close to the low of 59°F. Pretty much ideal.

I think Dubia has by far the biggest WR bonus out there which is why they always get a ridiculous elite field.

But do they have good free beer after the race - Pretty much my only criteria

              More Cowbell!

Your thread title made me think of another place with fast times...

When you're on your deathbed, you won't be wishing that you'd spent more time at the office.  But you will be wishing that you'd spent more time running.  Because if you had, you wouldn't be on your deathbed.

                    It's Friday!

That school where they wear Swamp hats?

There was a point in my life when I ran. Now, I just run.

Back beat, the word was on the street
That the fire in your heart is out
I'm sure you've heard it all before
But you never really had a doubt

This is the new Junior World Record- Shiferaw is 19 years old.

According to LR.com, Desisa closed the last 200m in 25-and-change seconds.

Can't quite wrap my brain around either of the above.

                       I like running alone.
