2013 New England Grand Prix voting (Read 411 times)

Doug, FWIW, there is likely going to be a Swamp contingent there. I take it you're referring to the NJ Trail Series Ultra Festival.

I still can't believe they put that Thursday downhill 5K on there. How many people won't be able to make aren't going to be able to make it there because of work?

Is Lone Gull a fast 10k? I ran that Newton 10k two years ago and my legs still feel those fricking hills.

I'm turning 40 In march so I think it's time to get involved in the Club thing again. Plus, I like most of the races in the slates.

Yes, Lone Gull is fast. It was the GP race in 2009. I broke 36 which was only good for 79th place.

One weeknight race is not terrible. I'd rather a 5k in Hollis NH on a weeknight than a 10k in Shelburn Falls...ever.

Ya i was surprised by that but i never make all of em anyways.

I voted your way Ej. Slate 1, Lone gull and CCM.

Attaboy Doug!  When in doubt, always vote with the long haired socialist hippie libbrul.

Why the hell would you want to do that?  Still, with advancing medical technology you could still have a reasonable quality of life.

Just a FYI, the NJUF is March 23, not the 17th. L Train wants to race me.

Think I'd have to go for #2 with the Yankee Homecoming and probably the Cape Cod marathon.

but this vote is really because I think that would require the least amount of driving to get to the races.  I did the Grand Prix a few years back adn drove to RI for a 5K, and Shelburne Falls for the 10K (Bridge of Flowers below - which totally sucked because as I remember mile 1.5-3 was one big ass steep hill.  I think I remember I was the only person that was actually trying to run it).

Kind of surprised with the Manchester marathon pick, but I like everything else. Psyched for the Lone Gull with that field and what some of you have said about the course.

I didn't realize that Hollis is like 3 days before Mt. Washington---a lot of people are (rightfully) pissed about that.

Really Lone Gull was the only one I had a strong opinion on and I'm glad it made it. New Bedford (which was on all 3 slates) and Lone Gull are the ones I'm most looking forward to.  And I guess I really need to break 17 for a 5k before Hollis, otherwise if I do it there it will have an asterisk for being downhill.

I still can't believe someone thought it was a good idea to have a weekday race on there let alone a silly downhill one like that.

Do you know what other 5k's submitted bids besides Hollis and Reebok? I can't find that info anywhere. Maybe the FORR 5k should bid next year...wait, no we shouldn't.
