Well sure, all of those skills declined once we became an agricultural society settled into small villages and had time for art and stuff.

After his mile, Rupp did a 4 mile tempo in 18:41...

Pretty cool that we get this kind of access.

        On the treadmill, baby!

Seeing that 3:45 on the treadmill was pretty dang cool (obviously so was the whole video).

The ones at our rec center on campus will do 14.0(4:16) though to be honest running at those speeds on the treadmill scares the hell out of me. One misstep and it's pain city. Might be a little difference though if that was 25 seconds slower than mile pace :P

They say golf is like life, but don't believe them. Golf is more complicated than that. "If I am still standing at the end of the race, hit me with a Board and knock me down, because that means I didn't run hard enough" If a lot of people gripped a knife and fork the way they do a golf club, they'd starve to death. "Don't fear moving slowly forward...fear standing still."

That shit ain't right....  Damn... Shocked

            "I aim to misbehave."

This weekend's 3000 is going to be awesome. Rupp v Gebremeskel v Gebrhiwet (18 yr old w/12:47 pr). I don't know who to pick between Rupp and Gebremeskel. Gebremeskel damn near beat Farah at the 5k, also has an insane time to his name (12:45) and has shown some beastly last laps off of both fast (54-55s in his 12:45) and slow paces.

I think Rupp is good enough now that he CAN win, especially if Gebremeskel doesn't come in 100% fit, but I'd still lean towards calling Gebremeskel the favorite. Gebrhiwet is obviously really fast as well, but not quite the same pedigree as the other two. If I remember correctly though he had some absurd drop last season from like 14Tight lippedx to 12:47. If he keeps improving....

                  There is always that. T_T

Hopefully some point we'll get to where they just put some sort of monitoring device or probe inside you and constantly be able to check levels. That might be enough to put a stop to doping/specter of doping

If either one of them wants to do a shakeout at the Great Stew Chase 15k in beautiful Lynn the next morning, I'll show them who's the boss.

Didn't we already do a thread about the new Schneider?

There was a point in my life when I ran. Now, I just run.

Back beat, the word was on the street
That the fire in your heart is out
I'm sure you've heard it all before
But you never really had a doubt

I think that's my new goal: to walk up to a treadmill and legitimately have to ask, "How fast will this thing go?"

It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.

No. There will be stew at the finish.
