So you actually accepted the friend request?  Unless you're the local meth dealer I'd be denying that request.

           Amen

Well, I guess I can see wanting to keep tabs on the daughters guy friends but I have a strict over 18 policy on FB friends.  Even my neices and nephews.  I can't control what people post on my wall.

             +1

Good times never seemed so good.

I'm not a meth dealer but, eh, I figure the upside outweighs the downside.

Meh. I'm FB friends with a number of my kids' friends.

I'm happy, hope you're happy too...

I do as well. My daughter is 16 and I've had to tell a couple of her friends that I don't accept friend requests from those under 18. My wife is friends with some of them though.

Just curious--what's the rationale behind the personal 18 and over FB policy?

I never want to be seen as the creepy old dOOd.

                           Definitely.

I don't get how it even has the appearance of impropriety.

What FSocks said. I just don't see the need for older guys to be FB friends with high school girls. I know I don't want my 16 year old "friending" older guys/dads.

Plus in this day and age, one little innocuous comment or picture taken the wrong way and you're fucked. Figuratively.

I am friends with one of son #2's female friends. She's probably 17 or so, and sent me the request so I just accepted. I have zero interaction with her, though I did take some prom pictures of her (as part of a group of my sons' friends) and tagged her in them when I posted them. But I would never interact with her in any direct way...I agree that the threat of the creep factor is high.
