that guy in Indy.

He also had a similar season statisically to Stafford as a rookie...there is hope for the Lions fans!

I agree theres not neccessarily a strategy at play but more circumstance when deciding who should start.

Heh.

Come on Mikey, you know you want to say his name. Deep down in places you don't want to admit are there, you admire him.

This is just too delicious to leave alone --- and now playing the role of Voldemort of the NFL - Peyton Manning.

Thanks for making my afternoon a little brighter.

Well it was more a matter of trying to subtly point out that nobody had yet mentioned best example ever of a QB having success after starting straight out of college, but we can go with your explanation if you want.

By they way: Peyton Manning, Peyton Manning, Peyton Manning is a career .500 quarterback in the post season in 18 starts.  (Brady is 14-4).

Carry on.

Just messin wit ya. He did get the crap beat out of him for the first few years. Its a good thing he's and above average size QB for the pounding he took.

Just validates the Atlanta Braves argument with Peyton playing the role of Greg Maddux.

Perhaps most impressive of all the impressive stats concerning Manning is that he's started every game his team has played since the start of his rookie year.  11 12 seasons worth.

That doesn't get much play with Brett "Ironman" still hanging on. He is one big MF though. Nothing like the QBs I encountered at ND. 6'6" and like 225+. Early on, being young helped absorb the punishment. Now the O line is one of the best in the biz and he hardly gets tagged.

Interesting aside. I run downtown during lunch mostly and one lunch run I come around the corner of the Westin to damn near run into Manning as he is getting on his motor coach. Guess he was doing som gig there. If I would have hit him, I probably would have bounced off and taken the worst of it. However, one of my running partners later mentioned that its a good thing I didn't hit him as with my luck I would have clipped his knee and I could be the Steve Bartman of Indy.

It would have been a great story to have tackled him and then done a "sack dance".  Until one of the fast ass RBs got off the bus and made you eat your own ass.

The weekend before the Super Bowl we saw Addai and someone else I did not recognize ordering sushi in the mall...all we could think was NOOOOOOO!!!!

I saw that, yikes that was a surprise to me. I guess they feel good about McCoy\Weaver.  Not that they run the ball anyways. Just more reasons for Reid to go 30/70  Run/Pass.

Also makes you wonder if hes taking a while to get over the concussion

They cut him because he was due $7 million this year if they kept him.  That's a lot to pay for a guy that would not be the main back anymore.  Running back seems to be the position where productivity drops off a cliff once it starts declining.

The guy was one of my favorite Eagles but I was not surprised at all.

Didn't see that one coming. All the talk has been about McNabb. Interesting.

On a side note - its combine week here in Indy. What a friggin waste of time dog and pony show. And this - its closed to the public.

Don't worry they got it covered on the NFL Network. Combine drills = the epitome of epic TV.

Watching the combine doesn't interest me but I like watching the draft.  This year instead of Sat-Sun they are doing Thu-Fri-Sat with the first round Thursday, rounds 2 - 3 Friday, and the rest Saturday.  I should be able to see more of it because of this.

I just think televising the combine is hilarious, were not scouts, we don't know what the heck were looking for in the 3 cone drill, or the shuttle.

I however love the draft, as well as all the draft talk\articles.

I do like the new format. I will be watching on Thurs and Fri. After round 3 i'm out.. if I make it that long.
