March 11 - 17 Racing thread! (Read 111 times)

    1:04:09

My racing outside my comfort zone is done for the year, and this might be the last race I ever do in March.  Weather reports placed wind chill at -2 or 3.  And I don't like the cold.  So I left the watch in the car and just went and ran.

Overall, though, I'm not upset with the time given the conditions.

    Yeesh.

Nice running, all y'all.  I can't believe some of the stuff that is going on around here.  It's good to hear.

There was a point in my life when I ran. Now, I just run.

Back beat, the word was on the street
That the fire in your heart is out
I'm sure you've heard it all before
But you never really had a doubt

        That's a whole lotta good-looking right there.

I swear I've seen Mikey in a Pizza Hut commercial.

One click and it's clear you've earned your seat at that table, wherever it is. Congrats, Scully.

I know exactly where (and when) that table is Nads.  If The Kid doesn't get Greater Lowell's Runner Of The Year award on Saturday April 13th, I'll eat my Angry Chicken singlet.

EJ, your time Age Grades to a 1:09:50 and you were 6th M50. Top scorer on our seniors team, top scorer on our masters team and 5th scorer on our open team.

I'd say Sully has some serious competition.

Plus you make it look so goddam easy!!

Best thread evah!!! Great job by all.

              What in the Jehu?

Yeah, but you have 1:19 in you and you know it.

I know we all have a lot more in us.

6th for M50. Say that one more time. sixth. Ridic.

Checking in with my wet blanket: 19:55 (11th over all) in the upper-westside chill to the bone run through the park.

I think standing out in the cold with only a shirt and shorts for an hour and a half before the race isn't the best "warm up".  Muscles never felt like they engaged.

                    God, that time sucks.

In absolue contrast to the RA running gods photo above, here's a shot of me and and bucci suffering up a hill behind running tights man -- who ran 1:15:41 dressed like that!

                      Was it all a dream?

1:13:45 Always nice to get a PR.

Wow!  I think the "always nice to get a PR" talk is usually reserved for the 9sec PRs, rather than 9min PRs.  Nice work!

                        Sub 2:35 at Boston?

I'm in the business of misery...

+1. Unbelievable. Only thing, Scully, is this makes Tucson look like a huge sandbag in retrospect.

Holy Cow what an awesome race weekend.  Goals were set and achieved!  PRs were aimed at and hit!  Awards were won!

Nemo won a race outright!  flatfooter became magazine famous!  Some guy named drunkass did something remarkable outside of the race thread.  eatdrinkrunwoman wanted to beat last year's time and did it handily!   mstuartm, WhoDatRunner, CliveF, abe-mend (frozen), NaderAlfie (!!), ebiss, xhristopher, Bucci, BadDawg, all set new PRs.  just devin set a 10k PR inside his half.  mbehr and ebiss won their age groups  On and on the awesomeness rolls, and spring hasn't even begun to be sprung!!  Smile

But only one can be chosen, for the Stupid Fucking Imaginary Cartoon Eight ball is a jealous (or is it envious?) award!  And refuses to be shared or parceled out.

So Nader, you set yet another PR (WTH?? how do you do it?)  and came in second place in your race.  But this week, another amazing PR was set by the venerated BadDawg who continues to defy age and gravity!!   Congratulations BadDawg, you aimed high and you jumped even higher!  Cool

Proofread carefully to see if you any words out.
