Careful. You're dangerously close to violating the Prime (and only) Directive of the 2000 Klub. Allow me to quote: Got something serious to say about training and racing? Well don't do it here! Take that stuff over to the main "General Running" and "Racing" forums where everyone can participate, not just the whackos amped up on testosterone who think running 2000 miles will somehow impress somebody. The forums here are for smack talk and general gibberish only. Ya got that? Don't do it again, or you'll be mocked ruthlessly.
So I'm wondering, does that "rule" need a little tweaking? When I wrote it I was simultaneously mocking my own fake authority and trying to make sure that this group didn't become a secret club for the high mileage runners to clandestinely discuss their training secrets out of view of the runners who could probably benefit the most from our collective wisdom (and I use that term loosely.) I figured since most anyone aiming for 2000+ miles or even in the ballpark enough to sign up is probably sufficiently experienced and self motivated that they wouldn't need the same kind of encouragement and nurturing that maybe some of the people in the lower mileage groups do. Instead, I figured anarchy and chaos and a place to blow off steam and poke fun at each other without having to use emoticons or disclaimers would serve a more valuable purpose. Any thoughts on that? So far it seems to be working swimmingly and we're not even a month into the year, so I'm not lobbying to change anything, just wondering what others think.

    Runners run.

Crap, we can't use emoticons!!! Eh, fine whatever.
running until I hit 1900 miles for the year. whether fast or slow I will just run.

Amen. Good figuring. I apologize for my own rule violation. Won't happen again.

I agree with Jake. It's appropriately idiotic around here. I'm proud to be a member of such an esteemed community.

Easy now. I didn't say you couldn't use them. I said you didn't HAVE to use them to indicate non-seriousness. It's implicitly understood here. As you might expet that subtle point missed it's mark with everyone execpt the guy who raced like 63 miles the other day off of a base of near zero. Maybe ultra's help you hone your senses? I personally don't like emoticons, so I don't use them very often. Okay, almost never. I think they're sort of like explaining a joke right after you tell it. Kind of takes the bite out. But they look good on all of you. Evil grin Modified to add: Cool, lets keep it as is. No training talk here. Just smack talk.

                  Runners run.

Wait, you mean nothing here is serious? Huh. Guess I need to go modify training methods then.
