    How many times have you been totally busted for using "only" when talking about a run. Yesterday, I got so totally busted when replying to the question I get several times a day... coworker..."so, Lynn, got any big runs coming up" Lynn..."I'm going to a race this weekend, but I am ONLY pacing a friend for 20 or 30 miles in their 100 mile race" Lynn to himself..."Doh, you are so busted!" coworker in extremely exaggerated manner..."OH, YEAH, I AM ONLY GOING TO RUN 50 MILES TONIGHT WHEN I GET HOME"... busted Sad Undecided

      Um, yeah, I'm sure I've never said I was ONLY going to run 50 miles. I do know what you mean though. "Only" is one of those words a runner needs to eliminate from his/her vocabulary. Especially when dealing with regular people.

        Yeah, I feel your pain. I can't tell you how many times I've told my wife I was "only" going to have one more drink... but she can. Ain't life grand that way! Clowning around

          Heh, my longest run ever was *only* about 13.5 miles, but when I tell people that I ran a "short" run of *only* 5 miles they always look at me like... <img src="http://www.runningahead.com/images/forum/emo_confused.gif'> :p k src=""></img src="http://www.runningahead.com/images/forum/emo_confused.gif'> :p k>
