I'm running somewhere tomorrow. It's going to be beautiful. I can't wait.
Poor baby
I'll have 4, 10, 13 yo in tow
Candice says it is a brewery and restaurant.
Okay then. Just registered for 2013...
And considering it as a goal race.
Yeah. My mamma didn't drop me on my head as a baby for nothin'
I'll put in for Bjorkland. If I don't get in we'll still be there...Bens gonna run in the half champs again.
How do you keep your feet on the ground, when you know you were born to fly?

Alive & Running
I'll be running the marathon, pacing a friend to her BQ.
For me I am trying to keep running expenditures (after Bostons big outlay) to a minimum this year. I am looking to run local races.
So I think I will run a local 5 miler instead of going up to Grandmas.
But its January - I might change my mind.
So I think I may be trying my luck for the half. I have just not gotten back up to the base fitness I would want / need to be able to train for a good marathon. It was a tough year in 2012, and I did not even reach 1000 miles. Mainly because of the last 3 months of the year.
So... I'd rather run a good half than slog through a marathon that I am undertrained for. I am sure I could get myself ready to finish one, but not to race it... Maybe a fall race or just look to next spring.
"I aim to misbehave."

We gotta get you out running some training runs with the group. There's on on 1/19 if you're interested. Lunch / beer at Longfellow afterward. I think some are running 17-19, but obviously you don't need to go that long. If you can make it I'll run the first few with you before kicking it up for my progression run (will be looking to go GMP for the last 5).
I will be Up on a frozen lake in Brainerd for the worlds largest ice fishing contest, so that weekend won't work. Definitely want to run with the group again, soon, but I am not around very many weekends for the next couple of months...
It sucks that the MNRW runs are usually on Saturdays. Probably why I show up for like...zero of them.
Running long on Saturday is wrong. It's just wrong. You're supposed to do speedwork on Friday, med-long Sat, and long on Sun. This is how life works. You guys are doing it wrong.
Also, some people don't live lifes of luxury and are forced to work half a day most Saturdays

I do my long run whichever day of the weekend I expect to be least hungover... But I love it when my schedule works out to do runs with the group.
But I am a low mileage slacker with mixed up priorities in life (and a 5 year old kid).
I seemed to always be in this awkward place of being in between the fast group and the slow group, but given my year of epic suckage, I think I can firmly plant myself with the slower folks for a bit. It is cool that folks like Don and Willie have at times been willing to crawl along with the likes of me, though. That's why MNRW rocks, y'all!
This year I will make a legit run at 2000 miles, and try to set a couple more PR's before I creep into the "mid-40's" and face the presumed decline that will result... Why did I not start this foolish sport at a younger age?
I'll tell you what Candice, I'll host a Sunday run in your honor. Tell me what Sunday works best for you and the time of day you prefer and we'll set it up. I'll even arrange for you to give a pre-run pep talk / speech on how to do it right.
I will interpret ... "Friday nights are made for drinking ... fuck am I hung over on Saturday mornings ... at least I get my speedwork done on Friday, so I can drink hard Friday night."
