When we choose to race, we affirm our ability to hold onto the things that may go right against the wild whirl of false paths.
Anyhow. 3:44:08.
A 3:27 minute PR.
With a near-4 minute negative split.
I passed 50 people in the last mile and was only passed by 11
I am happy with my race
I'm running somewhere tomorrow. It's going to be beautiful. I can't wait.

Well I was able to accomplish my goal 25:50, not bad for waking up at 4:30am with a screaming kid.

Congrats, Trent. Your splits look like you were feeling pretty good the whole race. You really picked it up in the end too!
Current Goals: Run
Way to drop the hammer on the last mile, Trent. Nicely done sir, nicely done.
I put it under there.

Absolutely. The preceding four weren't too shabby either.
I started out with fairly low confidence, and kept the effort fairly conservative. The closer I got to the finish, the more comfortable I was with pressing it a bit. After 20, I started to let things open up, and after the hill at 22, no reason to hold much back. By 24, the crowds were huge and that really drove me!
Of course, the beer at 21 was good too. I had just put some chocolate gu in my mouth seeing an aid station ahead. But instead of water, they were handing out beer. Interesting combination...
Nice work Trent.

This would work nicely with a stout or porter. Plus their low carbonation would keep the beer burps down. (Based on two personal studies in New Orleans, a dixie cup of Abita amber causes 1.5 miles of beer burps).
Anyways, good job. Next year you can count on it being 110 degrees.

Good job, Trent.
Runners run.
Think I'm back on track now. Got the 5k PR this morning by about 20 seconds. 18:29. The sub-18 goal for this year is looking more realistic now.

I'm thinking that winning money is an indication that you're getting pretty fast. Congrats on your race, Wannaberunner!
