I realized that in a few more weeks and I can stay ahead of that damn bunny with my weekly export from SportTracks.  It strikes me that I've needlessly complicated my life by joining this user group.

and man, I had an off week last week and slipped from the middle of page 2 to page 4.  I hate January.

I'm coming for you, Tater.  Just so you know you have a target on your back. Why?  I don't know.  Target of opportunity.  I was sitting around #70 before I got sick and missed a lot of potential miles, and now I'm clawing my way back up and you just happen to be sitting in my spot.  I've been stalking quietly for a week but it's much more fun if you know you're prey.

2012 goals:  Fastest race times since 2006.

Whatever gets you out the door, right?  Honestly, other than busting balls occasionally I don't get caught up in where I am on the list.  If I'm as consistent as I was last year I'll move up to page 2 eventually.  If all goes as planned it will happen.  And it's not because the mileage is a goal, but rather it is a requirement due to other goals I have (faster races times, namely).  But I'm sure that's nothing new to you.

Damnitt tater. You're ahead of me. Enjoy it while it lasts.

I am enjoying it.  We've had a break in the cold weather and I'm back to running in shorts for the time being.  How is it in Siberia?

Too funny. Thanks for the laugh Tater.

I used to be the same way but right now I am honest enough with myself to admit that refusing to fall down the list is much more motivating TODAY and likely to get me on the treadmill than a race several months from now that I know will be a disappointment no matter how much I train for it.  So I take what I can get.

I've been jockeying with you too Candice, but given your stated goal to end up on Page 1 I try not to get my hopes up.

It is nearly impossible for me to get over 8 miles on a work day right now so my progression is limited.

MTA:  Right now I think simply getting out consistently and logging sub-7 miles without missing many days is going to get me as far as anything else.

I hear you, spaniel.  Honestly I'm in a different place than you are right now.  My oldest just got married and my youngest is 20 living at home but I barely see him, so I have more time to run now (or so it seems).  10 - 15 years ago it would have been much tougher.  Honestly I don't know how the folks on here with young kids do it.
