Found this gem on letsrun.com... "Title: Need help with Tranny problem Went out on a date last night and had problems with my tranny. Early on, it seemed kind of awkward -- hesitation, not sure what was going to happen next, etc. Later, things warmed up a bit, so we decided to go for a ride. That was ok, but there was some bucking, grinding, and strange noises. I'm sure there's some sort of lubricant or oil that could be used to fix the griding issues, not sure. Looking for some advice here on what to do next."

Hey, whatever you're into, man....... I suggest asking Eddie Murphy.
We should have a running item here: Letsrun thread of the day. Where we can discuss amongst ourself out of the limelight of letsrun itself.

Good idea. I liked this one.

One of my favorites posted a few weeks ago had my stomach hurting I was laughing so hard... Someone posted about how they were going to run a 5K and was wondering if they should wear a fanny pack....so it went on and on. Some people thought it was serious and some told him that just a fanny pack wouldn't be enough, but that he should have a pack with flares and a tent just in case. Ha! I am laughing now just thinking of that thread, wish i could find it! Big grin

The430miler's latest work is entitled what is your deepest, most competitive, mental initiative??. It includes such gems as"..the best you can be in your physiological career," and "...and it is time to regulate the past." I also love letsrun because you don't have to register so you can start a thread called "I'm going to run the golf course naked tonight" under the username, naked golf course runner. Not that that was me, just thought it was funny.

Oh man, that provided a much needed laugh on a really lousy day. Here's my favorite quote: "your cell phone could easily fit in your rectum" Big grin Big grin Big grin
"Long-distance runners have to be very strange people. You have to really want to do it. You don't have to win or beat someone, you just have to get through the thing. That's the sense of victory. The sense of self-worth." ~Ted Corbitt

The fanny pack thread is excellent (and now 9 pages) but I'm still dying over 430's latest treatise, now 3 pages. "im a one man army" --the430miler, quoting his personal coach Jonathon (Bravo) on the mental quota he recited to himself to ehnance his physical kick.

I remember seeing you in that thread when it first popped up. I like what Orville says on page 6: "If you do not run for the love it, you will not be a distance runner for a lifetime." Pretty simple. Pretty true.

It's nice to see runners like Steve and Orville chat like they are alone in a room with me listening in. Also note that Bob Hodge and Tom Derderian added some words. Tom is an old warrior buddy of mine in the master's division and I once beat Bob in a trail race Wink Bob was in waaaaay over his head on that terrain and I passed him with about a mile to go. I think he was cramping up real bad... Neither one of them would probably remember me, but Tom might....
