      OH HELL YEAH!

20:11, 4th OA, 3rd in gender & age group, for a massive PR...almost a minute! Holy crap, I'm so pleased with this race, and I couldn't have done it without Hannibal helping me with the pacing. This was a fairly brutal super hilly course, so I'm thinking sub 20 is in sight if I can find a flat course...what a great race!

      Goals?

        OH HELL YEAH!

Dude very nice, so close to that sub-20

If I can go under 11:49, I can be among the top 100 grandmasters' times (male or female) for the beer mile in the WORLD.

          I really wish I hadn't seen that.

You have some leeway in this.  The top 100 grandmaster times are not by Kingston rules, so a bunch of them don't mean jack (there is Coke, chocolate mile, and beers below 5% in there).

I'm pretty sure as long as you don't DNF you will have the Tennessee female grandmaster record.

          Don't DNF.

Pacing job successful,  nice even splits the whole way.  Skootr can definitely get sub 20 on a faster (flatter) course.

Ran an impromptu 5k this morning...didn't think I was going to but Ben was and I was awake and needed to run so why not.

Congrats to Skootr and Candice on nice PR's.

Didn't make my 5k goal of sub-36 this morning but still a successful finish. Legs were feeling good the first couple miles. Paced it pretty well. Passed several people in mile two. Lots of run/walking in mile three. Closed it out with a nice sprint finish for ~40:27. Water slides after were a big success.

Current Goals: Have Fun Jog a Lot

Thanks Quint. Was this was a race with your kid?

Yep, a good day. Better than any I could do by myself.

                          Location: York, Maine

                          Goal: 11 Laps / 33 Miles

I was late getting there so I had to wait for the front runners to finish the first loop before beginning.  I thought about stopping after 5 loops so I could go home with my wife, but figured I needed time on my feet so I kept going. After 7 loops I realized that I only had an hour to get in 2 more loops...which wasn't going to happen at 35-40 minutes per loop. So...I turned it into a 4 hour 20 minute warmup followed by a 6 mile race and did the last two loops about 10-15 minutes faster than I'd been running.  The rain had stopped and the river coming down the rock faces had slowed to a trickle so I was able to run a bit more of the course than I'd been able to previously.

The first mile of each loop was a dirt road and some flooded double track, the second mile was climbing up a bunch of rock faces which were slick from the rain, and the third mile were some great but tight switchbacks to get back to the bottom broken up by periods of rocky technical single and double track.  Tons of fun, despite the thunderstorm that rolled through.

Final distance: 27 miles in 5 hours 8 minutes (w/10 minutes leeway following my final loop.)

Best part of today's 6 hour run: A triathlon at the same time. They got there after we started running to set up the trail markings and tents and finish line at the top, all the triathletes came through and finished, plus did their post-race partying, and the tents got taken down and put away. All before we finished running. (There were still a few people hanging out at the top when I went by the last time though.)

And Qjr. (Some yr I want to do that race, for the water slides!)

It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.
