My mini-race update.. First mile was a stroll through part of the Sac State campus with the company of all the people who go out way too fast. Crossed a foot bridge and into the residential section for four miles. By this point, mile two, I was running alone. Around mile four and in the neighborhood switchback section, I was yelled at by a volunteer to "run faster". Resisted all temptation to not flip him off while his gf giggled and told him not to say that. Kept jogging for about seven more minutes until I came back to the footbridge. At this point, the bridge felt like a mountain and managed to suck the whatever was left out of my motivation. Finally, I veered off course for a second as I didnt know which direction to go. But, it wouldnt be a race if I didnt get lost.
In the end, it was a good day. I found a rhythm at the pace I wanted and that was the goal. Finished 2 OA among the hobby joggers (first in AG). Good was the guy that beat me was wearing a singlet from my club / bad.. he is a cyclist. The entire Sac State track team took most of the top spots. First place was the Sac State record holder in the 5k. Second place was an Asic Aggie, bet he was shocked to see somebody in front of him!

But I have to give the FCIM8B to my cutie guy ebiss!! Here you go, great job racing a 5k for the first time since High School and schooling the others in your age group for the hardware.

wow, I'm honored just to be considered, not sure what to say about actually getting it. Believe it or not, this means a lot to me. Thanks. I'm getting past a dry spell after a painful marathon in November which led me to hate even the idea of running. Saturday's race did wonders for me and gave me the hunger to run more and run faster. Congrats to everyone who ran great races this week. Thanks for being a source of inspiration and extreme laughter.
Cheers!
