Where's the BadDawg thread at? (Read 1743 times)

It seems like he had the best performance of any non-elite I know about.  I'm sure this was all the chatter on Monday when I was not around but still.  Dude needs his own thread, right?

    Doughboy

I know, right? I asked him last night what his secret was. He gave me some nonsense about track and running a lot. And racing. I kicked his butt in the recovery run.

I still want to know how big his PR was. He didn't post a goal or an old PR.

          Maybe almost 6 minutes.

I mean if wannaberunner can win an IFC 8ball without even being a swamper, how is it not a total snub to skip BadDawg because he only posted his goal in a general a sense?  I don't usually argue with the IFC 8ball results because that's a tough job that I'm not willing to do myself but hey, I gotta stand up for my boy BadDawg a little here.

All respect in the world to Kristen for a truly great race and PR but BadDawg's was the most impressive run of any RA'er I've seen so far.  It's not even really that close.

It was a 6 minute PR, not that that should be the deciding factor.  And, I dunno, this looks kind of like a goal to me, almost:

I'm just going to run the race the Spaghetti Monster sets before me.  I honestly can't tell if I'm overconfident or underconfident, overnervous or undernervous.  I do think that I think I'm ready for a good run.  Finishing in three hours would be a twelve minute improvement from a year ago, but given the right conditions I think it is a possibility.

It was a hell of run. I know the Dawg came tantilizingly close to breaking three last fall, it must feel great to smash it at Boston. I guess hard work pays off.

Have you qualified for Boston? I want to interview you!

I think the most impressive part about Kristen's run is the 9th place in her age group.

I'm not arguing against Kristen here.  She ran a great race.  But she's a marathon noob, we hell she could be sub 3 a year from now and it would surprise nobody.  She ran her first marathon in September.

BadDawg has been running marathons since 2007, had a non-slouch PR to begin with, ran a 6 minute PR, first sub-3, at Boston, at age 48.  C'mon man.

I wasn't arguing about whether he was deserving -- I just wanted to know his previous PR.

You guys take pleasure in kicking a dead horse too don't you.   I did not think BadDawg posted a goal and I did not know his actual goal or his current PR until he posted the result.  Why would I snub someone I look up to for the impressive improvement he has shown in the 2-3 years I've been here, when I acknowledge others who I know a lot less about?
