Fast is better than long

You know I start out fast and fade; so after three replies, I was out.

Did you all read the same thread I did? I think there are a lot of different perspectives there, some of which are pretty positive...

I didn't get that it was negative or positive. It was pretty much: You're fastest in your 20s and then in your mid/late 30s you start slowing down. Once you're in your 50s you really begin slowing down. Some people don't slow down as much as others.

      STARTLING NEWS.

        That's nice.

This thread on aging is actually pretty decent.

The hammer dropped and I fell off the cliff and I didn't even know it, because I wasn't running back then.

Well lookit. I hate when people talk in movie theaters.  Drives me nuts when people add their commentary. But there was this one time, it's a movie about a Freedie Kreuger type who is terrorizing a group of people.  He is right up behind one of them, the theater is dead quiet and a girl in a bubble jacket screams "Run muthafucka!"

Still funny, 14 years later. And, I think it is good advice for runners, too.

On the treadmill today and old guy comes up asks me, "how's the hips?"

                Me - Excuse me?

OG - Weren't you hurt and you're getting older, doesn't running bother your hips?

Me - Hips are good, everything else might have troubles here and there.

OG - I used to be a pro soccer player and you can't play or do things like when you get to be my age

Me - this is my thought, I'm not dead yet so keep running.

OG - Ok you got a point or why would I be at the gym.

                Yep, deny, deny, defy...

Can't deny the fact that a 46 year-old was at OT marathon last year.

Yeah. Thats the best your old men can do. Meghan Arbogast ran the OT last year. She was 50 at the time.

I'm 46 and I can't bring myself to click on any of these links. I'm just gonna ride the upward curve of my late start, gdmnt.

                      I put it under there.

At 25k of s 30k race a couple of weeks ago, a 50-year-old dropped me like I was standing still.

Hey Wrigs, remember last weekend when a 60-year-old chick  annihilated all but 3 men over 50 at the Tom King half? Good times!
