Nebraska?...No...New England?...no...Nuclear Engineering? Really, you're gonna go ahead and acronyminize that? Weird. And still not true - all hockey fans know what RPI is, no matter where they are.

I meant New England. Pretty much no one I worked with knows what RPI is, they almost always respond with: "You're from RIT?" Now I'm in the land of UT and A&M and thus no one here seems to care about hockey.

What college were you in? I actually went to Rice for a year, Jones College...

How about that. Sid Rich, '83 - '86. My mom was at Jones, back when it was women only. I spent a fair amount of time over there; my girlfriend (now wife) was at Brown.

"Way to make Borat look overdressed"

Oh, and congrats on the 8 flatfooter - nice run!

Yes, this got lost in shuffle geeky engineering schools. Nice work, flatfooter!

        Runners run.

Well okay but as Nads pointed out, RPI is not in New England and I would guess most people in New England don't know what RPI is either. Unless they are hockey fans--and even then they might not know where it is or what the letters stand for.

As a test I asked my college educated wife who went to a Division 1 hockey school what RPI was and she guessed, "Rhode Island Polytechnic?"

"No," I said. "Rensselaer...where do you think it is?"

          "I dunno, Pennsylvania?"

          Alas.

          Runners run.

That would have happened in Worcester, England in 1837.

MTA: To jog your memory, that was the year that you welcomed Martin van Buren (who?) as your 8th President.

I attended Martin's inauguration and remember it quite vividly.  It was a beautiful day.

Those of us who remember ECAC tourneys (rather than Big East) at The Gahden know RPI, and Clarkson too for that matter.

Some damned fine winter running, in tough conditions on opposite ends of the weather spectrum.  Congrats to all, but especially flatfooter for the win.

That runner who comes up and passes me is a 15 year old punk who's 10K split was 38 flat who then he jogged a lot so he could be sure to sprint past me at the end. My legs had no response. At least my chip time was faster.
