    You okay Don?

I will be.  Sorry, shouldn't air this crap out here.  I bet you get the jist of it though...

      Yea, I think so.

How do you keep your feet on the ground, when you know you were born to fly?

        Running 7000+ would be crazy

For some people 1000 miles per year is crazy. Everybody has a limit, but it's a moving target. When you have all support you need like coaching staff, team doctors, PTs, massage therapists, sport psychologist, nutritionist + place where they cook for you and feed you, specialist on stretching/yoga, specialist on relaxation/sleeping, cushy job at the National Centre for Elite Sports where you "work" 20 hours per week, but get paid for 40  ...etc. and it's all free, 12000k per year is not that hard. Hard part are paces you run at, but when most of my runs where at sub 6 mpm pace, it doesn't take that long to average little over 20 miles per day, especially if most days it's doubles, sometimes triples and the day off is an easy 6 miles run.

        The crazy is relative.

Slow and steady never wins anything.

          Whoa Goo.

That's a good gig. If you can get it.

I didn't run yesterday - I skied ... skiing is more fun than running.

            Now my knee hurts

silly runner should not ski 6 days before a race

            running is stupid

A bit of belaboring the obvious, methinks.

It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.

They have enough snow in Wisconsin to ski?  Is this dirt skiing or can you actually ski/ride on snow without ruining your junk?

Right now I'm thinking that if I hustle and do enough doubles I can hit 5,500 for the year.  Need to average ~21 miles a day to do so, but I've got nothing but time, so giddyup!

                              Achilles tendonitis?

I know, I'll be careful.  If I start getting odd aches that feel like they're more than aches I'll pull back.  I've got a full racing schedule in 2013 that I don't want to jeopardize.
