A couple folks made their goals, but WhoDat beat it on a course where others did not. As Nader said, you're making progress my by the month.

+1! Strong running, and things are coming together really nicely for you. (Jealous!)
I didn't consume quite as many gels as Bob, but I definitely had my fair share. I too may have gone out a tad too fast (was trying to stick to about 4:40 for the first two laps), but it definitely didn't feel too fast at the time. The heat did sap my energy a bit, but the biggest issue was lack of sleep. We stupidly took a redeye on Thursday night, and I never caught up on my sleep on Friday. Despite drinking a bunch of coffee and Coke at the aid stations, about a third of the way into my 5th loop I became extremely sleepy and almost feel asleep while walking. (Weegee was fortunately with me; he said I was stumbling all over).
I wanted to just lie down on the side of the trail, but he wisely kept me awake until we got to an aid station. (It had gotten quite cold by then). I sat in a chair and closed my eyes, and while I never really feel asleep, it was just enough to take the edge off. I took off with renewed energy, and with 8 miles to go I was a woman determined. I picked up my pace and started passing people. (Granted, most of them were in a death march by then). I thought I had lost my chance to beat my 27:42 Javelina time when I had to take a nap, but it became clear I could do it. So happy to get that buckle!
Upcoming races: 5/18 Watershed Preserve 12-hour, 6/2 North Olympic Discovery Marathon, 6/15 Bighorn 50, 7/27 White River 50, 8/24 Cascade Crest <gulp>
My woefully neglected blog.

Who needs a pick-up? I've got a MFEB
Thanks guys. As sappy as it may sound, seeing what the rest of you crazies can accomplish pushes me to a least try even when I doubt myself.

My vote would have been for this - But you can't challenge for the 8-ball w/o declaring.
Not to take anything away from the other performances - Just pointing out this is a really good race on a snowy winter trail ~
