Fast is better than long

My legs were what I thought they would be. Trashed/

7:58 very weak showing but still second place.

Showed up took off my sweats tried to warm up realised legs were not going to cooperate so I sweated back up and jogged and drank.

The joy of the race was leading the ultra runners on a nice 4 mile trail run were my legs finally returned towards normalcy. Cooled down with a 6 pack.

There was puking, I did not participate.

    2013 Goals: 2500 miles / 2:45 marathon? / sub 2 800m / 4:30 mile / sub 16 5K / sub hour 10 miles

    What in the Jehu?

Not sure I could have run a 7:58 without 4 beers yesterday. Today I think I could, barely, as long as there aren't any steep downhills--and I plan to test that theory at some point.

      Runners run.

There was puking, I did not participate.

        That's a win.

First run for me today and holy crap does my back hurt. So 'm going to race this weekend. Wicked smaht.

33:07 for my  8 year old son but to my great surprise my 10 year old daughter ran 33:35 and stayed with us most of the time.  They both ran the whole way which was really awesome.  It was the only goal we had.  The race had a few hills and they both did a great job of not stopping.  Really couldn't be more proud of them.   That was a lot of fun to watch them do this.  Now next year we have to beat those times.

                    Doc, my tooth hurts

30:38. Was 3rd in my age group and won a can of yams.  19th out of about 2000 runners. The course was hillier than I remember but it was a good time.

Thought I was done racing for 2012 after Baystate, but…nagging goal of sub 17:30 5k still hanging out there. Aiming for a no-watch, just-run-baby, detached, cheetah steak eating, blow out. With XC season over, college kids home from school, super flat course, this has the makings of a good one…

                        17:33, 2OA, PR

No college or high school xc'ers out there. Another time trial (1OA was 30+s in front of me, 3OA was 30+ back).

Windy as a mf'er out there. My kid's cub scout den was manning the water station, so I had to take a water. Sure that cost me the 3 stupid seconds for this goal, but I'd do it again to see that smile.

An' forward, tho' I canna see, I guess an' fear!

Dan Gibbons 5K - 21:41.   I'm now excited about breaking a 7 min mile?  Well beggers can't be choosers.

Kept up with a college mate who I'm sure what running easy on my behalf.  Out of shape in every way but lovin' every minute of it.

Toe joint even stayed in place!  Big grin

Yay for toe joints that stay in place, and good calls at Cub Scout waterstops!  Great stuff.

Running With The Bulls 3 miler on 11/25, goal is to run with the lead bulls and take down as many as the Monkey venom will allow.  And beer.

48:10.  The Manchester Road Race is a New England tradition, Amby Burfoot ran it this year for fifth year in a row, but it is so fucking crowded these days it is really more of a parade than a race.  Still, it was fun.

19:10 unofficial. 5OA, not sure on AG, maybe 3rd. Not bad for a week after a PR marathon. Too bad it wasn't a 5k or I would have PR'd a marathon and a 5k within 7 days.  I was in 4th for most of the race, gapped badly by BadDawg. Faded badly and got passed in the last 100 meters but had nothing left to fight back and settled for 5th. PF flared up badly in the last mile too so I was favoring one foot. Now hoping I'm not on the shelf too long.
