Swampers unite in Chicago for 2013. I'm planning to run this stupid race and am hoping that in the process that I can meet some of you fine people assholes before or after the race. I know it is a way off but we have to signup very early (Feb I think) and have to get hotel rooms. I would really love hate to meet some of you dorks and think this is a great race to do that.
I would also like to throw out the gaunlet to anyone who in the last six months has run a 3:25 - 3:10 as a PR. I'm looking for a challenge from one or multiple people who are willing to lay it on the line in this race. Runners around my sad ability. The challenge is to beat me and any others who join in this challenge at this race. For those willing to do so we will come up with a bet that is worthy of a year's worth of training. I want no excuses of why you lost and trust me you will lose. Be wary as I will taunt you pathetic training and I will be keeping an eye on your training log. So anyone up to the challenge?
2013 Goals:
I will of course let you out of the challenge should you not be able to get into the race due to the craziness of sighnups.
Not in Chicago
You suck. You should just quit. Jackass. Welcome back.

I really really want to run Chicago someday. Can you arrange for wonderful weather, BCR?
Proofread carefully to see if you any words out.

Mercifully, i do not qualify for such a challenge.
You have a year to train. You qualify if you have the balls to accept! I know Nads does not.
IIlene if you come to Chicago it is mandatory that we find a RA'er bar and finally meet each other. I promise good weather and a good time. Even if Trent shows up I still promise good weather but maybe not a good time ;-)
I have never had the desire to run Chicago yet. Big Cities make me unhappy - Just look at my time in Nashville.

I totally get where you are coming from. The NY Marathon would be a nightmare for me even on a normal year unlike this year.
However, small races can suck as well. No one to run with for miles, no fan support, less medical help if you get hurt. Both have good and bad things. However, Chicago is one of the few bigger ones were it starts and finishes close. Plus they say it is flat which is perfect for those wanting to race other people. That and I can actually get local people to travel to it unlike the Monkey.
I don't like people all that much - I like running alone - I do not need anyone blowing smoke up my ass - I do not care if I die. So what's the upside of the mega-marathon?
Now if someone would take the stress out of Chicago and drink beer with me afterward - I would consider it.

Just make sure it's the year Trent is somewhere else. I swear the two times I ran, he was around somewhere. I don't do well in hot conditions.
Chicago is the only one of the really big city marathons (in the US) that I have any desire to ever run if I ever un-retire from marathons. The fact that its a loop course on wide city streets makes the logistics manageable for a huge race, and of course it's a blazing fast course. The fact that Chicago is a great city to visit is nice too.
Runners run.
Well get off your ass and come to Chicago then. You know you want to! Get back on the Marathon horse.
Um I already promised good weather with or without Trent. This race is Trent proof!
I've run Chicago twice and both years the weather was absolutely perfect. There was supposed to be 100% rain and 50 MPH winds during MCM, but it all waited until I finished. Let me know if you're interested in running Chicago in 2013 and I'll register. I'm the anti-Trent.
This race is Trent proof!
You will rue this day
