You'll need a time machine to race on January 4

There's another January 4 every year though.

        At 40 miles, bhearn 7:30:30, EDRW 9:14:47

        At 60 miles, bhearn 11:43:53, EDRW 14:32:36

Bhearn finished up in 21:51:26.  (Congrats on the sub-24 buckle, Bob!)

EDRW finished in 27:00:24.  Great job!  Rest up and heal well.  Have an adult beverage for breakfast. You earned it.

            Race: Mid-Winter Classic 10 Miler

Goal: Nobody lost, nobody hurt, everybody has a good time

Not running tomorrow, will be far too busy, especially since the high school we start/finish at had a swim meet tonight and was using our area for concessions so we couldn't set up in the space at all and ahve to do it all before the race starts (wasn't about to hang out there until 10pm tonight before I could start...and doubt the janitors would have wanted me to...)

Speaking of the Mid-Winter Classic, I'm running it. I've been flat laid out by the superplaguemonkeyhyenaflu all week, so this is probably not one of the wiser decisions I've ever made. It's a really cool race, though, and I don't want to miss it, so.... trainwreck, here we come!

I've changed my mind. If I ever do the 24 hour on MILF lake, I don't think I could handle you being anywhere near there.

Sorry, the FORR 5k is the day before so I can't leave town then.

Umm - nope 49:20. Fresh snow made it slick. Ran 7:15s on the snow for the first four and ran 6:45s on clear roads for the last 3. As mikey said - good workout.

Nice buckle bhearn. Well earned. Good race Greg especially after being sick.

Wow, do you sleep? Yep -- goal fail, went out too fast. I somehow had delusions of 19:00. Rude awakening on the second loop. I couldn't have managed sub-20 anyway, though. This is what happens when you run a 100 off 30-40 mpw for two months with no long runs. The hamstring started hurting at about 15, but fortunately faded as I slowed down.

This course is supposed to be faster than Javelina (where I ran 20:42 at my first 100), but I don't believe it. It's "flat", but rolling, with tons and tons of roots. Nowhere to get a groove going for a long stretch, unlike Javelina. And if you stop paying attention for just a second -- boom, you're flat on your face.

                      Sub-24 buckle:

Great buckle, but I am a trifle disappointed -- last year, the sub-24 buckles had Texas in red, white, and blue, like on the state flag; that's what I was expecting.

                      Unusual comments:

"Nice pace!" as I was walking, about M40.

"Great job!" as I was peeing.

Mike Morton lapped me about M54. No course record -- this was just a training run for him. He's a little guy; I was surprised!

Oh yeah, and I ate 60 gels. Mmmm. I was going to go with no salt, but as things headed south I popped some Endurolytes around 55. No noticeable effect.

                      Betsy finished in 27:00!

MTA I appreciate the tracking, WG. Thanks.

Haha, uh...no.  57:57. 10th overall. Not a great race but a good solid workout.

Success. 1:09:41, PR despite complete inability to breathe. That was not fun, but I'm glad I did it. Still have both lungs, though neither is working all that well.

While I can't fathom what bhearn and EDRW did (I haven't ever run more than 4 hours), I do appreciate that you ran a nice race on that course. I pulled the Stew Chase off my calendar after I got sick so nice way to HTFU and not be a wimp like me.

BTW, instead of racing 15K I ended up running an 18 mile progression run. Where's the logic in that? Did someone say running is stupid?

Thanks X. Don't look for logic, you won't find it here.

You suck. You should just quit. Jackass. Welcome back.
