Some chick I passed on the big uphill right before 6 tried to out sprint me at the finish. I wasnt going to do a sprint and take out the 2 people in front of me but I wasnt going to put up with that shit either.
This is where it would be most appropriate to include a photo of you elbowing your way through the people in front of you. Congratulations on the fast run and strong finish.
It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.
Racing my own trail race. It's a 5K (more or less). Guess I'll say goal = win. Is that bad conduct for RD?
Complete failure, but it was exciting.
A local HS coach brought some of his XC runners and I hung at the trail edge of the lead pack through about 1.75mi. Then I twisted my ankle -- whilst calling some directions to them and stupidly not focusing on terrain beneath my feet. So then there was what should have been a nice walking break, but some pain in my ankle detracted a bit from the leisurely stroll -- that plus people coming past me. I did start running again later, and came in 11th at 22:18.

Awesome day for a run and had a lot of fun, but big ol' fail. Stopped after 3 loops when my achilles got a little tight late in the loop. Being healthy next week is more important than finishing this week. Houston is much more expensive.
Run to Win23 Marathons, 10 Ultras, 16 States (Full List)
Surprised. Now I'm really pumped for my next Marathon on March 4th.
Results self-timed (No one else ran the marathon this year):
Chan - 20 miles: 1:54:30
Ryan - 19.65mi: 2:14ish (Sick all week)
Tony - 19.65mi: 2:14ish
Greg -13.1mi: 1:28ish
Eric - 13.1mi: 1:28ish
Brian - 13.1mi: 1:28ish
Andrew - 6.55mi: 44:00
This is a fun run usually I would expect wind, snow and ice; but this winter has been nice. 30 degrees at the start I wanted to use it as a long tempo run.
Chan put about 50-60seconds on me from miles 16-20 he was shooting for 5:20's at the end. He is shooting to be in sub 2:18 shape for Boston as a last chance qualifier for London.
The first mile was slow (6:48); I was just looking to start out easy and work into it. Right at the first mile marker Chan and I broke off from the group; I don't know who was setting the pace but it was like boom 6:02, 6:01, 5:54... 5:40's...5:30's. Chan threw in a few surges around mile 10 at 5:20 pace, but I didn't take the bait. At the half I felt good, but I missed a chance to grab a drink of water so I only had 3-4 ounces at 6.55mi and 19.35mi. With 7 miles to go I knew I was going to finish somewhere between 2:33 and 2:29. Finished in 2:30:30 on a perfect day; I wish the weather could have been this nice at Chicago. Great run for the end of a 100+ mile week. I hope the weather stays nice, I would like to get in a few more solid workouts before March.

2:03 for me. Sister conned convinced me to switch legs so I started 1st leg in the very last corral. Some of those people are quite, eh, em, pedestrian. Spent the morning passing peeps. I do believe each mile was faster than the last.
Raised a bunch of bucks for a great cause so the race was gravy.
Fast is better than long
Congratulations to all of this weekends racers.
Now to the part of owning the thread that blows ...
I do not have flatfooter's results so that makes granting him the difficult. If flatfooter comes in sub 2:50, he can share the .
ebiss, just completing that much running is quite the feat, but the some of the females married to really fast males from the Minneapolis area complain about the award going to the most mileage, besides you're goal was to extract pain and your experience was made to sound too blissful.
I'm going to DQ Riggs, because it was not a sanctioned event, but I am still giving him an HM(hell: HM^2). That's just a flat out STUD training run. You were 10 minutes faster than expected and by all accounts rans a very smart race run.
Another HM goes out to greaso84. While I know your expectations were loftier, that is not a performance to sneeze at, kudos.
So the is going to go to Ennay. 90 seconds ahead of projected goal and the use of brute force in a footrace to finish with a 2nd in AG warrants this weeks award. Default not needed, congrats.
May all the niggles be healed and lessons to be learned lead us to another week of racing

Dr@t one of my best pieces of advice to guys it to launder the red towels with the whites, overpack the dishwasher and vacuum up the extention cords to avoid the hosehold duties.
