I feel like I've done all that I can do with where I am at right now; I have no idea if a 6 minute PR is possible but I guess I will either do it or crash and burn trying.
Nice.
Thanks, we'll see. I have the 1:43 half nailed pretty well, so hoping to do better. Last 4 halfs have been: 1:43:20, 1:43:21, 1:43:41, 1:43:10...all on radically different courses, different weather and different times since my close encounter with the Buick.
Did an angel whisper in your ear and hold you close and take away your fear...In those long last moments
Anyone want to plan an Indy Mini meet 'n greet ? If so, PM or something.
Got it! 1OA out of 14 participants. 1st mile 6:38, 5th after one mile. First to finish eating and head back out, overall 18:46 (and I guarantee the second mile was a lot slower than 6:38). Won a $10 gift card to, of course, Dunkin Donuts.

Congratulations on the win! Just wondering, did they give you water or anything to help wash'em down.

Yep, exactly - it would have been a lot tougher challenge without it, I imagine, especially considering some were pretty dry (we all got the same selection - jelly, butternut, chocolate cake glazed, chocolate frosted, french crueller, and a regular glazed. I'm still full.)

5k - 22:10 ( I have a love/hate relationship with the 5k, been chasing my sub 21 goal since 2007. )
Change of plans. Not able to race.

All of the fast guys must have went running in Chelsea, because 20:10 won today's race. Still, pretty happy with only 4 weeks of real training in the bag.

1:33:50 on the watch. Fucking nailed it. GDDMN I'm happy. Time for a beer.
Yes, I do "run in this." So should you. The weather is never as bad as it seems from behind your office or car window.

2:02:09 on the watch...6 minute PR. I'm not as happy as I thought I would be...I really wanted under 2 but I just couldn't get my legs to turn over anymore. I've never had that happen...no pain, I just couldn't bend my legs - like they were cramped up (but I've always heard people associate pain with "cramping up"). Boo.
Awesome Drew, I think a rematch with Skootr is in order this fal
Wow wow wow. This made my morning. As for me, we had some minor baby drama. I got to the race after gun/horn, pinned bib and affixed chip as quickly as possible and sprinted after the field without warmup. Tried to jump over start mat as they were taking it away. Not sure if it picked me up. Either way, I was toast at mile two, but gave it my best. Drew my man. This is great. Great.
Sorry for the minor baby drama, but I hope you had fun anyway. And thanks for being a remote inspiration to run faster than I thought I could.
Maybe, but I hate marathons. They're dumb.
Will Crew for Beer
I'm running the Indy Mini Marathon also. This will be my first HM, so just finishing would be good, but finishing in under 2:30 would be better. Richard

2:20:50 for my first HM. I ran way too fast in the middle of the race, but I'm pretty happy with that.
