6,000 Miles (Read 543 times)

"run" "to" "eat"

run 100 miles every weekend, that's only 15 miles in the weekdays. easy peasy.

i find the sunshine beckons me to open up the gate and dream and dream ~~robbie williams

My goal was actually 6,240 - But I think I will fall short of the 120MPW

Next year my goal is to run much less - But faster

Doing the math on this makes a 6,000 mile year seem daunting.  It comes out to >16 miles per day and >115 miles per week for the entire year. Still, I gotta take a swing at it...

As a friend of mine, Run for Beer, says, "Running is stoopid".

          Running 7000+ would be crazy

When I came here, I was thinking about starting 5000 miles thread as a joke. Well the joke is on me you crazy people.

I took some down time in the 2nd half of September and October ~ Running 500 MPM does not seem that bad - Until you factor in life and the weeks that end up 30 or 40 or even 60 miles.

This is a base year for next year ...

Its all part of my long-term plan

When I started running - My goal was to build base for 10 years and then kick ass.  I will hit 10 years next July 1st - So close enough.

Sadly - I am too old to kick much ass anymore - But BadDog does give me hope.

                A Saucy Wench

if December goes okay for me this will be my third year in a row above 5000 miles.

6000 would be a lot of running

I just had to quote this.   I may even post it on facebook.  It's that good.

Although I get your point - I understand this competely

I just had to quote this.   I may even post it on facebook.  It's that good.

I cannot even fathom running 7,000 miles in a year.

It is more than just a matter of perspective - As you start pushing up on time limits and the bodies limits there are true barriers to do much more

Keeping a 20 handicap is not that hard in golf if you work really hard at it

A 10 handicap is much harder

Going from 10 to scratch golf is much harder than going from 20 to 10 ... Even though each is just 10 strokes.

Or I can drink 10 beers in a night pretty easy (Every night) - Although I do not want too

20 a night would be really hard after the 1st few nights - But I could do it

30 I would fail really quickly.

oh I get it too.  It's just funny.  Especially when I have people look at me like I am nuts for running a whole freaking 20 miles a week.

But you just run 20 miles on the weeks when you feel good right? Then you recover the rest of the month.

I mean, it's not like you run 20 miles EVERY week, right - because that would be stoopid.

It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.

                            Alive & Running

                              Congratulations?

Depends on how you look at it.  I'm hitting "reset" on my life.  Gonna be tough, but I think I'll get through it.  Luckily I can run...probably gonna be the only thing keeping me from the bottle.

How about 7,000 miles for 2013?

                                You okay Don?
