Who's doing Boston in 2013? (Read 673 times)

Fast is better than long

With the sign-ups starting this coming Monday 9/10, I wanted to see which swampie's are headed to bean town in April.

    1. Trying to budget next years racing dollars
    2. Realize that I don't want to make Boston a goal race, but did like the course
    3. Realize that the swampie get together was a top 3 memory of the weekend, and a low turn out could make me invest elsewhere
    4. Kinda want to start a psuedo-beer mile. Monday night after we have celebrated too much, head to the commons and run.
      1. It won't be a mile (9/10th-ish), it requires some risk in that public drinking is not overly acceptable.
      2. Drink a beer - Run from Charles and Boylston to Boylston and Tremont
      3. Drink a beer - Run from Boylston and Tremont to Tremont and Park
      4. Drink a beer - Run from Tremont and Park to Park and Beacon
      5. Drink a beer - Run from Park and Beacon to Beacon and Charles
      6. Puke

    2013 Goals: 2500 miles / 2:45 marathon? / sub 2 800m / 4:30 mile / sub 16 5K / sub hour 10 miles

    Give a man a fire and he'll be warm the rest of the night;
Set a man afire and he'll be warm the rest of his life.

    What in the Jehu?

      Assuming I get in.

I barely squeaked under the new standard by like 9 seconds so I'm not holding my breath

The first question I get when people hear I run is have you run Boston. I'll just run it for the experience and to be able to say why yes I have run Boston, now move along.

It depends on what you mean by "doing".

        Runners run.

Depends on if I get into Umstead or not. I'll know Saturday.

          Thunder smash!

Obviously my memory is much better than yours as I still recall the pain and suffering that was Boston 2012. A year won't be enough to get over that waste of a great training cycle/ $$$.

And seriously...run...after a marathon? You've been hanging out with weirdos like DB too much. WTF is wrong with you?

How do you keep your feet on the ground, when you know you were born to fly?

            break'n three

I've got half the buffer of Eric M, 4 seconds, so..., assuming I get in, I'm running it. I might even train for it this time.

By the time it's night I'll probably be too drunk and stuffed to run a beer mile.

Okay, what are you peeps talking about?

                Qualifying? Getting in?

I thought you were just supposed to show up and run.

If I go, you sir, are officially uninvited. Don't you have a nephew in CA having a mitvah?

I will be there, but not in a "thong".  I am always interested in a beer mile, no matter how much pain and suffering I have already endured.
