The pain that hurts the worse is the imagined pain. One of the most difficult arts of racing is learning to ignore the imagined pain and just live with the present pain (which is always bearable.) - Jeff

You suck. You should just quit. Jackass. Welcome back.

Was supposed to run my first 100 miler this weekend, but my lack of training led to me dropping down to the marathon. Gonna run it at my buddy's pace, who has a similar lack of training. It'll get another state off the list. No idea what kind of shape he's in but I'm going to guess we'll run it in about 3 and a half hours.

Goal before neck injury was sub 10. However with my lack of training the past month and the fact that my neck is still a mess I'm hoping to go sub 11. This will be my very first Ultra that will be under 70-80 degrees.
Looking to meet up with some RA'S and drink some beers!
Your toughness is made up of equal parts persistence and experience. You don't so much outrun your opponents as outlast and outsmart them, and the toughest opponent of all is the one inside your head." - Joe Henderson

My first race since last fall, and sort of a checkpoint race to see how marathon training is going. Mini-taper on Thursday and Friday, all out HM on Saturday. Legs have felt heavy and tired with new mileage realms on them lately. However, I am going to go out at PR pace and see what happens. Maybe I'll surprise myself.
