Alive & Running

More like a tour of the beers available at the Fulton taproom.  Have you been Don? I went over there before the Twins/Cubs game on Sunday. Basically a large garage with a few TVs and some big windows for viewing the brewing process, but pretty damn awesome nonetheless.

Trent, if you weren't planning on coming into Minneapolis until Sunday, I can stock up on Surly this week and hand it off to you on Sunday.

MTA -  Didn't see that Don had offered already... If you want to really stockpile, I can pick up some for you as well.

I haven't been there yet, but heard good things.  Should be a good time.

I'll plan on getting some Surly too, just in case.  Even if Trent doesn't need my stash I can never have too much Surly at home.  Cool

See y'all on Sunday.  Should be fun.

Thanks guys. Yeah, just took Don up on the offer. I'm gonna check a place up here in Duluth if I can too. Awesome!

Kara Goucher and Abdi Abdirahman are in the 1/2 - Damn, I wish I was spectating

        I also found this interesting

I agree that Andrew Carlson and Josh Moen will be competition for Abdi - But I do not believe May Akor or a few other they list will be in top 5 for Women.  I would love to see Andrew break out and run 1:00Tight lippedx

Would love to see MN folks dominate the field...  do like Abdi, but I'm partial Big grin

Mary Akor just won the Trail half marathon (Valley Crest) that I ran here on Sunday.    She is scary strong.  Cool

Did you guys want to meet up at our place and walk over? We can save street spots if you tell us in advance. Like I said, we're also convenient to places that sell Surly and Harriet beers, etc.

Also- is Fitgers still on for post race?

How do you keep your feet on the ground, when you know you were born to fly?

                    Ftigers - Yes

Somehow I do not think Fitgers will happen until after 10 am.  You and I and early start Schneidr will be done at or before 8:15.

I am trying to remember if there is a place to drink beer on that 2nd story boardwalk that would allow a person to watch the marathon elite finish and get pie-eyed?

Sounds like a good plan.  I think there's a Cantina on the boardwalk area right next to the finish line.

I'm in the business of misery...

With the Twins game at 1, parking will be limited any closer to Fultons.

Actually, if Trent really wants a unique beer, we could scalp some cheap tickets a few innings into the game and get a Bandwagon Ale from the Surly stand (Target Field exclusive West Coast IPA).

I'm in the business of misery...

Fingers post race is good. And we only need one person to go into the game for the special Surly. Smile

As previously stated....  If I get home at a reasonable hour on Sunday I am going to start texting the Minnesota Swampies to see where y'all are at.  I want in on this shindig!

cuse my langauge but fuck me ... I take my friend Chad down for an easy 18 mile trail run (Ice Age Northern Kettle) - He takes Monday as a rest day and wants to pound.  His 1st trail experience so I let him lead 2/3 of time (Better to see rocks and roots)  After awhile I got tired of asking him to back off and just went with it.  My goal was an easy 3 hour trail run = 10 minute miles.  We ran 9:14 pace.

We are both running Bjorkland 1/2M this weekend - I know it will cost me a little bit in that race ~ but hopefully only a little.

He wants to go to the trail on a regular basis ~ He will be punished in the future for pushing the pace on an easy day.

Really?  You think they'll let you walk out carrying four beers?
