Friday has been known to be a heavy drinking day by a couple people. They even have this thing called Happy Hour to get you drinking earlier.
Best to maximize weekend time at the end, not the beginning. That way you can spend the weekdays getting warmed up.
For those that are going to go slow and finish fast. For us sprinters it is better to have some time at the beginning off from work and then just have family.
Theoretically I could see going out for a long run Sat morning, come back have a couple beers, go to the hash, drink and run, come home finish off some more beers, then head out Sunday for a long run. Make my way to the couch for a few hours and get some more beers in the rest of Sunday. I could possibly do 50/50 by Sunday night, or at least have a huge chuck of it done.
Hmmm, that's a good strategy. I was wondering how much pissing one would be doing while downing 7.14 beers per day, but pile up on the weekend sounds right.( it is beers right? not "drinks")

Right. But in your scenario, the Saturday morning long run won't count if you start the challenge Saturday at noon. In my experience, and according to many anecdotes out there, it is best to frontload the miles and backload the drinking.
I thought Thunder stated 8:00am, that was early enough for me. Not perfect but early.

Actually if you want to start this Saturday at 8AM sharp and run it through 7:59 AM next Saturday 2/27 I could be in. But I'll have to sneak some shower beers in. Won't be the first time.

Lurker here, finally chiming in, as I think a 50/50 would be pretty easy, though I've never attempted it.
I've got to ask though, isn't Thunder running a 50k on Saturday? Shouldn't he want to start Sat. am? I'm running a (different) 50k that same Saturday. Whatever day you pick, I think I'd be in. I'm a pretty good runner and a decent drinker, and would like to know if I could do 50/50.
To add to the difficulty, I too have job and a wife who thinks I already spend too much time drinking and running.
