        Run like a kid again!

From his log he has started to run again - If he was still on the sidelines maybe that would be an excuse, but there is enough time if he wants to hit 2000.

He may care or may not, but he could do it if he wants

So is that what it comes down to these days?  Well I could run 2000 miles if I felt like it.  I mean how many fat people have said to you something like that.  You try your best not to laugh and be supportive but it is really hard to do.  Personally I think anyone can run 2000 miles if they want to.  Problem is most people are not motivated by being fat, lazy and out of shape.

I offered a guy $200 today just to stop smoking for 6 months.  He said it was not enough.  If I could find one person that I know who would take me up on that bet I would be a happy person.  It would be the best money I ever spent.  Alas I doubt I will ever find that person.

After writing this it has made me think tis would be a good gsp question.

Instead of being a lazy shit and posting this garbage why don't you get your ass out and run?  You are over 300 miles behind me this year.  You must be real lazy.  Man, how can you stand just sitting on your lazy ass all of the time?

There is a long dark road ahead of me.

You can make it this year -- heck, you can make it today -- it's just one 40mi run away.

It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.

4000 miles is an amazing number.  I'm neither fast enough, dedicated enough or care to ever get to that number.  2000 miles was a major acheivement for me.

                            I don't know you but I have a feeling you don't smoke.

If I can find a way to extend the life of someone I care about it would be worth the cost.  It is probably more selfish on my part because nobody is saying they are not happy.  However, I can't tell you the number of times I have heard someone say I would love to stop smoking or I need to start running to get healthier.  If all it takes is a little incentive from me to get them going then I would like to do that.

BTW - I am not perfect myself and am not implying that I couldn't do better like eating a little healthier but I try.

and perhaps an extra 300 miles would have gotten those two magic minutes.

10 days left.  At this point, I am looking for a cheap, irresponsible, short-term, short-sighted 10-day plan.  Wrap this outside-of-heel/achilles thing tight with an ace bandage and go?

79 miles left and I cannot walk normally.  Trent, really, these ibuprofen dosage limits.  Really.  How serious are you about this?  I know what did this.  It was the flippin' big block shoes.  I learned my lesson.  Can't I just ibu- my way out of it? Ice-heat? Heat-ice? Ice?  Ice-ice? Ice-ice-baby?  Oh, it appears that I now I'm effing corny, too.

79 miles and 10 days left.  Honest to goodness.  If I could walk even semi-normally...this is like tweaking times 11. When you're tweaking, you're waiting for the big day. You know it's coming. This is the bloody inverse...

If we don’t try we’ll never know. At least I can find out how good I can be.  I can have an answer at the end of the days, and have a hell of a good time with the process. -Desi Davila
