it was probably also the fact that I wasn't aware that you were supposed to sip it slowly - and I took a nice swig. That stuff burns...

Which one? and please don't say Cutty Sark or some other dreg like that.

Acceptable. Good everyday scotch. Next time try something like Oban or Cardhu. Much much better.

The next one will be much better.

I got a nice bottle of red wine for Christmas and I might just stick with that.

            What wine?

I'm running somewhere tomorrow. It's going to be beautiful. I can't wait.

            Poor baby

it's from this Amish winery in Smicksburg, PA called Windgate Vineyards - very tasty

uhhh - i have no clue. Doesn't say on the bottle. the only thing I can find from the website is this:

Fort Mahoning Red Aged in oak, this semi-sweet red wine blends Foch, Chambourcin, DeChaunac and Chancellor in equal proportions.

Are you a wine snob too?

First, off I can't beleive I read this whole thread but then again I started it and felt I should.

                         Neither can I...

How did we go from crossing the finish line for 2000 miles to drinking?

It's always an interesting journey...and reminds me I need to start brewing again.

I noticed that it is coming down to the wire for some people like dougefresh, NaderAlfie and RuntoWin to cross the 2000 mile finish line.  Come on people you can beat that furry rodent.  I'm pulling for you.

I was on pace for 3000-3500 miles this year...then I broke my foot, totaled my car, and a few weeks ago got a nasty bout of bronchitis.  Amazing how much time that can take away from your running...

I'm not too worried about hitting 2000 at this point...I'll probably be running 500 miles in January.

That said...I'm close enough that I'll probably make it.  I've got a 15 miler planned for tomorrow and I'm not working on Wednesday or Thursday...shouldn't have too much trouble making it, and trying to get some adaptation in before the end of the month so hopefully when I reach the 2nd week and am running double digits every day I actually manage to recover a bit.

January's going to be a tough month of running.  Looking forward to it!

Ayup.  Cough is mostly gone, but had to miss me a couple Christmas Parties, though.  My wife still went to them though, and had fun.  Made it to the last 2 parties at least, and was healthy for Christmas.

                            Hope yours is better too.

Wow that  is a tough series of events.  Amazing that you are even sniffing 2000.   I had to work my butt off to pass that line.  500 miles in January is a hell of a lot of miles.

Mine was bad.  It included some asthma and was likely bordering on pneumonia.  Look at my log, egad.  I am mostly recovered and able to jog a few miles again.  Not sure when I will be back in form and able to train.  And man, I took a lot of drugs to get through that.
