    That's too bad the event is the same weekend as MMT.

     

    I was looking over this course map and the right-angle turns was the first thing that caught my attention. Can you provide a report on the flow of the track? Will the turns hinder rhythm?

     The course is very similar to the map picture located on the site but not exact.  That being said the turns (both left and right) will not hinder any progress.  Even though you are taking a right hand turn you would cut the tangent to the next turn which would have you cutting across the road.  The turns will feel very gradual and not hinder your pace.

     

    From your comments before it didn't sound like you were going to MMT this year anyway so I thought this would be a good alternative.

     

    Let me know if you have any other questions.  Both the 48 and 24 are filling up nicely.

        Okay, I'm ready to post my 2010 goals. 

         

        5k - Sub 17.

        5 Mile - Sub 28:00

        Marathon - Sub 2:50:00

         

        Those are my goals.  Anything else at any other distance is just icing on the cake.

        mileage hound

          1)  Run more than this year (easy bar but a necessary one)

          2) Beat this year's race times and stop a 3-year steady decline in race times (again, should be an easy bar but I could have said that last year too)

           

          Heh.  By the end of the month I will have #1 licked already.  #2 bit the dirt months ago.  It is refreshing to see how far I have come, that these were the best goals I was willing to put in public back then.

           

          So let's refresh:

           

          1)  Hit 3000 miles

          2) 2:32:XX marathon

          3)  Sub-33 10K (if I run a fall one)

          4)  Sub-15:50 5K

          5) Sub-1:13 HM (if I run a fall one)

           

          Although I did bust my 37-day streak yesterday.

          2012 goals:  Fastest race times since 2006.


          Prince of Fatness


            • Lose some weight.  I may have to, gasp, cut back on beer.
            • Keep up with the yoga.  I think this has helped keep me off of the DL.
            • Mix my workouts up.  I was fixated on marathon training this year and all of the training was targeted for that.  I'm changing that this year.
            • Hit the hills.  I stayed away from hills because of my shin splints a year ago.  I need to get back to them. .

             

            Fail on the first one.  I'm about the same.

            Fail on the second one.  And I'm on the DL.

            The third and fourth ones went well, and I'll continue those when I am back to training.

             

            New goal is in my sig line.  Add to that make it to Baystate to meet a few of you boobs.

            There is a long dark road ahead of me.

                  i'd really like to break my current tetris high score - 988000.

                   

                  i'm working on this daily but still not there. i am experimenting now with a mix of complete tetris rows plus t-square spins, but i haven't quite hit on the right combination for the big score.

                        Mikeymike's fine.  I'm tired of people asking me if Mikey is going to break 17.  He's my swamp teammate.  He'll pull through this.  I mean if people asked me a month ago after my 18+ minute 5k if I'd have a shot this year, they'd say no way.  Now what are those people saying?  Laser show.  Relax.

                            you can make a lot of progress in 5ish weeks, stacked onto of this spring and the last 3-4 weeks specifically.  yea sub 17 is doable.

                                Funny thing is how right Pedroia was.  This bodes well for Mikey, other than that it's Thunder who's saying it so I don't know whether that has an effect on the outcome.
