Good luck, Joe!
5k, Mile
<18, mile = run hard
Definitely racing the 5k, from the website it's unclear whether the mile is a race or just a walk but it rather sounds like it is a race. Both are free too...good stuff.
SELFISH, like you.
Maine (half) Marathon.
1:26 (no idea if this is realistic...only one way to find out)
Last year Joan Benoit Samuelson ran this in 1:25:31. I don't see her on the registered runners list but it would be cool if she turned up again this year.
This is probably a pretty sick joke, but I've been chasing this for a while and my window of opportunity is closing pretty quickly. Sub 17:00 at Kerouac 5k on Sunday the 30th.
E.J.Greater Lowell Road RunnersCry havoc and let slip the dawgs of war!May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be always at your back, may the sun shine warm upon your SPF30, may the rains fall soft upon your sweat-wicking hat, and until you hit the finish line may The Flying Spaghetti Monster hold you in the hollow of His Noodly Appendage.
Make us proud, brother! You are a weapon right now.
Runners run.

"As a dreamer of dreams and a travelin' man I have chalked up many a mile. Read dozens of books about heroes and crooks, And I've learned much from both of their styles." ~ Jimmy Buffett
"I don't see much sense in that," said Rabbit. "No," said Pooh humbly, "there isn't. But there was going to be when I began it. It's just that something happened to it along the way."”
September 30th. Berlin Marathon, Germany.
Was supposed to be my fall goal race but sadly I did not get to train like I should have. Not sure what I can pull. I'd like to PR(sub 3:09), but not sure how realistic that is since I didn't work for it. Since I ran 3:10 last month, hopefully i'm at least still in that shape. If i'm super lucky maybe I can run faster off my spring training.
Goal 3:05-3:10.
How do you keep your feet on the ground, when you know you were born to fly?
break'n three
Hell yes.

It is realistic, and ballsy.

Marathon fitness seems to me to be a cumulative-fitness thing (not as cycle-specific as other distances). You never know.
Go get it EJ. You coming to the IA after for a beer?

I'll either be celebrating or crying, but either way I'll be at the IA with beer in hand.
9/30 Paddy's 5k -- 17:45
This is my 4th race in the month of September. Trust the process.
I'd rather go to Lowell and witness history and/or go to Woburn and drink with the Shamrocks but I need to be done in time to coach micro soccer so I'll be racing around my old 'hood in Cambridge in the morning.
